Gas Bandit's Political Thread V: The Vampire Likes Bats

Nah shes in a tough election, if the vote happens before the election she'll talk to mitch to make sure she can be one of the irrelevant no votes.

Romney is probably a good shot at standing up to a vote. Murkowski has said she won't vote yes before the election. Grassley has said he won't as well. 4 is the number they need unless some Dems defect.

One other note of hope is that if the Republican's can't get enough votes to push through before the election, their chances will go down if McSally loses to Kelly in Arizona. Since the seat was a fulfillment rather then an election, Kelly would be sworn into the job in November. There still is a chance they just say fuck it and vote in a new justice during the lame duck session, even more likely if some of the "no" votes lose their seats and will just push it through before the end since they would have nothing to lose at that point.

Another bag of trash into the garbage fire that is 2020:

Banks continuing to move money even after knowing a scam was going on. Moving money without knowing who owned the accounts. Helping people or countries evade sanctions. Etc.

My take: This isn't a joke. Republicans are legitimately planning a holocaust, and journalists are on the chopping block alongside racial minorities, religious minorities, LGBT, the mentally ill, the physically handicapped, etc. They're "joking" about this now as a dog whistle to their white supremacist supporters.

They're "joking" about this now as a dog whistle to their white supremacist supporters.
The last four years have pretty obviously already been one long push-of-war to try and mobilize "the Right people" to endorse (or even commit!) acts and events which will "cull the herd," so to speak, and remove the undesirables/obstacles from reaching the Glorious Future that awaits.

It's 145 BCE all over again. From the Wikipedia article for Ptolemy VIII Physcon regarding the purging of intellectuals from Alexandria:
On his return to Alexandria Reelection to President of America in 145 BC 2020 CE, Ptolemy VIII Trump is reported to have launched a purge of those who had opposed him and supported Ptolemy VI Biden. This purge is luridly described in the literary sources, though it is sometimes difficult to determine whether specific anecdotes belong to this event or his later reconquest of Alexandria America in 126 BC 2021 CE. Justin CNN reports that Ptolemy Trump let his soldiers rampage through the streets of Alexandria America, murdering indiscriminately, until he was "left alone with his soldiers in so large a city country, and found himself a king, not of men, but of empty houses." Valerius Maximus Fox News says that when the young men of Alexandria America took refuge in the gymnasion California, Ptolemy Trump set the building the West Coast on fire. It is probably in this period that Ptolemy Trump gained a number of per[j]orative nicknames, including Physcon (fatty) and Kakergetes (malefactor) - a pun on his official epithet Euergetes (benefactor).

So, question: Can Democrats in Congress impeach enough officials that they force the Senate to spend all their time with impeachment, to the point where they don't have time to confirm a new SCOTUS judge?
