Gas Bandit's Political Thread V: The Vampire Likes Bats

Do we need local election boards to manage primaries? Shouldn't the party itself be managing how they pick the nominee?

I thought you guys held up the idea that justice had to be in the open, or it isn't justice? Or are you guys too busy watching Circus?
You may have noticed that lately our government has been doing quite a bit lately without telling us what it is up to, all the while maintaining that doing so is necessary "...for our own good/safety." This is likely to continue until such time as enough people make their displeasure known, but who knows how long that will be?

This election is a fantastic distraction for getting bills passed which might not otherwise slip through the 24 hour news cycle.

Yeah. The Division isn't bad (it isn't good, either) but I have no idea why the Tom Clancy name is on it.
If it's a "realistic" shooter without a brand already attached, you can buy Tom Clancy's name to slap on there for some name recognition. There is nothing more to it than that.

But that's just the thing. It is not, in any way, a realistic shooter.

How does that video predict the Panama Papers? It's from 4 years ago, and the activities in the papers have been going on for 40 years, and Bernie even says in that video that we shouldn't be doing business with Panama because of the known existence of those activities. That's not a prediction.

Increased tax transparency to combat tax haven activities was actually a provision of the FTA. That may or may not have been effective (no way to tell until they release the American names), but at this point in time laying the blame for the known 40-year-old corruption of non-American billionaires on a 4-year-old American FTA doesn't especially follow.

Now, if you're against FTAs in general, okay, fair enough. There are certainly reasons for that. But the linking of the two doesn't pass muster without real evidence.

I love the guy who thought it was great to drop f-bombs on this child. And WTF? What's with all the "playing with dolls" bullshit? I wonder if they'd have said the same thing about boys? "You should be playing cops & robbers, not trying to be a reporter!"

These people have never heard of Nancy Drew? Investigation and problem solving used to be celebrated, not condemned.

According to the Americans Against the Tea Party website, Ted Cruz's phone number shows up in the DC Madam's phone records.

I don't put full faith in that site, but this is likely accurate.

It is always the family values guys...

I loved it when he said (it was close to this even if I don't have the quote exactly correct), "I did not have sex with those women."

And I immediately thought of Clinton. The irony was delicious. For the record, let me say it does not matter to me if a candidate or political figure is a cheater. Does not affect me in the least. Unless that person runs on a holier-then-thou platform and tries to ram their religion down your throat. I don't care what politicians do in their off time, but hypocrisy needs to be called out.

Surely all people who cheat are hypocritical?

Also, I feel like I do care about what a politician does in their off time. Not, like, does he have a model train collection, but yeah, is he the kind of man who cheats on his wife? I feel that speaks to his character and how he will behave and how trustworthy he is. In his private life, does he express opinions that black people are naturally less intelligent? I would care about that.

I just love that the voters that traditionally vote against cheaters are backing Donald Trump. Who has bragged about all the affairs that he had.

Another overwhelming victory for our campaign in Wisconsin!
David—We've just won another state for our political revolution, and it's a big one: Wisconsin.
The corporate media and political establishment keep counting us out, but we keep winning states, and doing so by large margins. If we can keep this up, we're going to shock them all and win this nomination.
Click here to contribute $2.70 to our campaign and MoveOn now, and we are going to keep winning states by large margins until we can win this nomination and take our country back from the billionaire class.
Wyoming caucuses in just three days and New York votes in two weeks. You can bet the financial elite of this country won't give up without a fight. They're going to throw everything they can at us. But if we stand together, we're going to keep winning.
Last night kicked off the most important three-week stretch of the campaign and we're starting off with another overwhelming victory. If we can keep our momentum going through the states that vote and caucus over the next three weeks, we’re going to win this election.
We're doing so well because millions of people keep standing with our campaign. Contribute $2.70 to our campaign and MoveOn now, and help us win Wyoming on Saturday and New York on April 19.

Amazing win last night. It wouldn't have happened without you. That's the absolute truth.
In solidarity,
