Bandwagon? I’ve been a 49ers fan my whole life, and so I’ve been hating on the Seahawks for a long time. I don’t understand the bandwagon part of your comment.

I think he's referring to the hate that started when they won the Superbowl a few years back, but I don't quite get what he means, either.

Now, if you're a Patriots fan you're either a bandwagon fan or just insufferable. Probably both.

You know, I just watched a recap of that game from last night as I didn't watch the second half due to, you know, needing to sleep.

SF may have lost but that was a damned fine game.

And here I thought everyone would be talking about my local football team this morning.

EDIT: Goodbye, Myles, thank you for playing - NOT.

Police were seen leaving the locker room, but nobody is spilling the beans on what was said or done.

That was an absolute train wreck to watch.

Fun fact: The last 99 times (over the last five seasons- including the playoffs) prior to today where a team was down at least 20-0 at the half? That team lost. Every. Single. Time.

Today was the 1 in a hundred times.

It is frustrating being a Panthers fan. Moreso than usual this year. We're UP, we're down. We get blown out by the 49ers, then we hang with the Saints, then we lose to the Redskins. None of this makes sense. If I didn't know better I'd say we are tanking for better draft positioning.

Well, it seems I wasn't the only one scratching their head about the Panthers' recent performance. Team owner David Tepper has fired Ron Rivera and at least seems to have some good reasoning for doing so now rather than later. Frankly, I liked Rivera as a coach and person and would have liked to have seen him be allowed to finish the season, but I get the move now to get a jump on the competition. We do already have Norv Turner on staff, but he is not being named interim head coach, just "Special Assistant" to the guy who is, Perry Fewell the current Secondary Coach. So that tells me Turner is not going to be the guy.

I've seen some names thrown around already. Among them Josh McDaniels from the Patriots, Mike McCarthy, and Dabo Swinney from Clemson. I'm not sure who would be the best fit.

Blotsfan's thoughts on these candidates:

McDaniels - after the shit he pulled with Indy it's hard to imagine him leaving the patriots for anything at this point. Also he has literally never been successful doing anything other than being the Pats OC so I'm not sure why people want him.

McCarthy - He was a massive flameout towards the end and apparently said he refused to change his offense in interviews last year so idk if he's a good idea. Still, he does have that ring.

Dabo - lmfaoroflcopter that's just the wishful South Carolina fan in you. Also, dabo doesn't seem like the kind of coach geared towards the NFL in the slightest.

I actually agree with you on all of those. I'm just saying that I saw those names being floated, not that I think they would be a good fit or even be hired. And yeah, Dabo has too good of a spot at Clemson to give it up unless he knows some NCAA violations are coming and he needs to get out before the hammer comes down a la Pete Carroll. I honestly doubt that is the case, though.

Derps gonna derp, I guess. I knew that 17-3 halftime score was too good to last. I was hoping, though. The Shield deserves a 6-10 division "champion."

We clinch the playoffs if we win this week. If we don't, we mathematically still have a good shot but it feels unlikely given that going into foxboro will always be an insta-loss in my book. I'm terrified and nervous and this game needs to happen but I'm so fucking scared. They also moved this to the night game so I have to wait an extra 7 hours just to make it worse. My heart is going to explode by Sunday.
