I don't think there's any level of evidence convincing enough to allow any person or state agent to murder another under the pretense of justice. Throwing someone in a cage indefinitely is not much better, but at least it allows for amends, on occasion.
I would be for death penalty and indefinite lock up if a truly transparent, accountable, and responsible criminal system/government/society was in place to do it. Seeing how these sentences are grossly misused in the past, and continue to be abused, I'm unwilling to even entertain the notion of them being in used in present time.

A Houston-era lawyer who was having financial troubles with his law firm reportedly dressed up like a Nazi before shooting 9 people, before being fatally shot by police. Since only 1 of the 9 people he shot is in critical condition, this would not, by FBI standards, be considered a mass shooting (which only counts incidents where 4 or more are killed). However, it is pretty fucking weird, so I thought it deserved a mention.

Yes, it is, I meant that the FBI mass shooting stats only track shootings with 4 or more killed, so since the kids didn't die, it doesn't count.
