I have come to terms with random people throwing recyclables in my recycle cans as well...its at least recycling, but today I found like a quarter of a pill bottle, with only half the name but the address of where it came from. Should I do something about this? Putting beer cans in my recycle buckets is one thing, but doing drugs near my LAWN is weird.

We are moved.

My son is burning his way through all the episodes right now, the first time anyone in the house has done so. It’s driving us nuts. My wife kept hearing part of the theme song and had to finally look up the lyrics so she wouldn’t go insane from not knowing. I now want to see the series, because I’ve probably seen 50 episodes, but only about 90 seconds from each one, so now I have all these cliffhangers and unfinished storylines in my head.

My daughter's room is a god damned disaster and she won't let anyone in her room to help her clean it. There is no way she's going to get it clean on her own at this point and I'm going to have to go in there and do it regardless, but I'm terrible at cleaning. My mom always offers to help her clean, and while I agree my mother can be pushy and overbearing, she is great at cleaning and will at least not throw anything out without permission. If it gets to the point where I have to go in there, I will throw out her shit no questions asked. Too bad my daughter is stubborn and willful and won't listen. :p

I'm getting a surprising amount of personalized feedback instead of form rejections lately, which is nice, but the message I'm getting across them is "great, emotionally engaging writing, but the story didn't pan out." One recent submission, I killed the story's purchase with the final sentence. Which is kind of funny only that I hemmed and hawed about the brutality of it, and Julie urged me to keep it in, that the punch was why she liked the story so much. But it sounds like I should've pulled that punch after all. EDIT: This is a random not a rant because on the upside, these personalized ones encourage me to please send a different story if I'm still interested. And I've made sure to send a brief thank you email each time.

My mom and I forced our way into her room, and she only threw a teenage drama fit for about 10 minutes before reaching the acceptance phase, so that's good. :p

Man, when I was 12, if my mom and grandma offered to clean my room for me, I'd have made them freakin cookies and milk. The only rule would have been "don't touch anything with wires please." That would cover my computer and my.... I forget what they're called, one of those science project things that comes covered with chips and resistors and transistors and diodes and capacitors and you just connect them all with wires to make simple circuits and stuff.

But nooo, it was always "you'll get your keyboard back when you clean your room!" :fu:

I don't know what we're calling the next generation. Its probably something dismissive, an afterthought that tells them they don't matter, and they'll wind up not even being considered a generation when the next one comes along.

The issue was that her room was getting to Hoarder levels and there was no way she was going to fix it on her own without getting overwhelmed.

I saw the specialist yesterday about my hair issues and she spent time with me going over why she was 90% sure it was happening and why it was so much worse back in January. I’m going to have some tests done to rule out other causes, but it’s most likely my medication.

One of my immune suppression meds is a known hair killer.

It sounded promising until she said that my underlying health issues have to be resolved for my hair to be back to normal.

That won’t be happening :(

Deactivated my facebook account today. Thank goodness. I have been wanting to do it for the last 5ish years. No social media for me! :minionshout:
I keep one around now just so I can see all of the business websites for the area, since about 2/3 of businesses down here think that Facebook is the perfect company website - because I want to see pictures of your kids while I'm trying to find out what your hours are or where you're located.

Every couple days I get locked out and have to re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-verify the account, because I've never posted and Facebook thinks I'm a scammer.

I held off getting a facebook account as long as I could, but when MWO wanted you to "like" their page with facebook to get a free decorative bobblehead to put in your mech's cockpit, I invented Buzzy Pomona. I use him whenever there's some sort of setup that requires a facebook account.

I’m super inspired to paint today but subject matter is eluding me.

Throw me some suggestions! Favorite places, landscapes, things, people, animals, flowers, still lifes, machinery, colors waves, I’d love some ideas from you guys! Please and thank you.

The lady who keeps standing at the top of my stairs crying and wailing but when I go try to talk to her she steps around the corner and then I go look for her and she's not there any more.

Water falls? Northern Lights?

Speaking of art, I need to get on my aunt’s Christmas gift.
