I'm seeing a lot of stories like this:

I can't help but think of "<group> raised money to <provide basic necessities> for <vulnerable person>" news stories. They're like post-apocalypse fiction. Yeah, it sure is uplifting how one person can make a difference by sticking to their beliefs and choosing kindness, but please don't gloss over the horrors of a world that has been turned into a wasteland by all that the worst of humanity can do.

"A vote for Biden if a vote for socialism"

Fine, the campaigning finally worked, I'll vote for Biden
the last few days, Trump has really been driving the point “Kamala Harris is more liberal than Bernie Sanders!” And again, i say...yes,very true, but not the way you think it is.

it’s gonna be a super fun fight the next however many years trying to teach people that liberals aren’t actually that left, but as long as we’re not under fascism j guess it’s a fight i will welcome.

Die in a fire, Mitch. That's the least you deserve for fucking over the country long after you are dead, you selfish, horrible prick.

Republicans shift from challenging rules to preparing to challenge individual ballots

The headline is only misleading because Republicans haven't stopped challenging the rules. They are planning to challenge individual ballots by suing to get access to signature records, but they're also suing Texas to have over 100,000 ballots invalidated because they claim that drive-through voting centers are illegal.

This is why I voted in person, I knew that my ballot would be more likely to be challenged if I didn't. (On the flip-side, though, voting in person meant using an electronic voting machine, and that loses the paper trail of submitting a mail-in ballot.)

EDIT:

Nearly 9% of votes in Harris county were cast via drive-through voting. Harris county is very blue.

Do I need to explain voter suppression to you, or should I assume you're doing your usual thing trying to alert to a broken tweet?

The tweet was from https://twitter.com/HarrisVotes . I have no idea why it was taken down. All it did was show early voting totals, broken down by drive-through, mail-in, and in-person.

Since I can find other tweets on that account quoting early voting numbers, but none with the totals for drive-through... Well, it might be that they took down the tweets because of the lawsuit.

Police In N.C. Arrest, Pepper Spray Protesters During March To Polls Event

"Along the way, marchers led by organizer the Rev. Greg Drumwright stopped for a nearly nine minute long silence in memory of George Floyd, the Black man who was killed after a white police officer kept a knee on his neck for that span of time. It was shortly after that moment of silence that the first confrontation occurred, according to march participant Amy Cooper."

When asked if he thought this was an effort to suppress the vote, Drumwright said, "I cannot say that that was what it was, but I can say that's what happened. There are people that did not get to vote today because they ended up in jail."

I keep getting mail like this:
Dear Jerry,
There's no question in my mind that Democrats will do whatever it takes to bring down President Trump. Their rage is also aimed at those of us who've stood by President Trump's side and are helping enact his conservative agenda. People like me, Jerry.
My name ain't "Jerry," Lindsey.
I am honored to have the support of grassroots conservative leaders like you – folks who are motivated by the desire to build our country up, rather than tear it down. Trust me – their attack machine is absolutely brutal. Because I am one of President Trump's strongest supporters, they are coming at me with everything they can muster. I've never been one to back down from a fight, and I'm not about to start now.
Chuck Schumer's plan is clear if Democrats take over the Senate - They have let us know that everything would be on the table. What does that include?
  • Open borders
  • Late-term abortion
  • Free health care for illegal immigrants
  • AND expanding the Supreme Court from 9 to 13 so they can fill it with liberals
Sux2BU, Lindsey. I hope you lose.

Link isn't available.

But I assume this means 25% of Americans don't follow politics at all?
Try this one: USA Today Poll: 3/4 of Americans Worried of Unrest

Americans are increasingly worried about what will happen at the finish line of this year's tumultuous election, a new USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll finds, including whether the voting will be peaceful and the outcome broadly accepted.

Three of 4 voters express concern about the possibility of violence on Election Day. Only 1 in 4 say they are "very confident" that the nation will have a peaceful transfer of power if Democratic challenger Joe Biden defeats President Donald Trump.

"There's a very angry undertone out there right now," said Monica Ponton, 72, of St. Petersburg, Florida. The registered nurse, a Democrat who was called in the survey, has already cast her ballot for Biden. "I'm in my 70s, and I feel like this is one of the scariest times I've ever seen for America since possibly (President) Kennedy and the Cuban missile crisis" in 1962."

Watch trump win Texas by like 50k and those votes turn out to be what decided it.*

* I know given the demographics of the county this is not really likely. I just assume bad

If approved, one of the ballot measures in MI ("Proposal 2") would amend the MI Constitution so as to require a search warrant prior to the search of any confiscated electronic devices, and to explicitly consider electronic devices as protected from unreasonable search and/or seizure. This is especially relevant considering the interaction between the DoJ's border policy, 4th Amendment rights, and Michigan's unique unusual geographical position.

Ballotpedia has an article on the proposal. Ballotpedia also generally tries to faithfully represent opposing viewpoints so that voters can make informed choices.

The "pro" opinion: "Here is a list of people and their arguments, including the ACLU."
The "con" opinion: "We basically could not find anyone willing to go on record and explain why they would be against such a measure."

That last part amuses me greatly.
