Gas Bandit's Political Thread V: The Vampire Likes Bats

This is kind of odd to me... like, what are the official charges? Murder in the first? Felony murder? Wouldn't those hang on the expectation that by pointing the police at the victim, there was an obvious expectation that the victim would be killed by the police and their brutal actions?

It's basically an admission that not only are police SWAT units wild and uncontrollable forces that care nothing for the public at large, but that the government finds such potential losses of innocent life acceptable.

I will never understand why anyone that's been in the military, post, ehhhh Eisenhower, would ever vote Republican.

I don't hate you Rep. Crenshaw, I just feel you probably lost some gray matter along with your eye and a good chunk of your soul.

“Support Our Troops” is the new socialism!

It's the infuriating "EVERYTHING THEY DO, FUCK'S THOSE SERVING AND THEIR FAMILIES, VETERANS, AND SURVIVORS", that they won't acknowledge.
He’s just all triggered by Bernie saying something that ANY decent person should agree with. He’d throw a fellow veteran under a bus just to oppose Bernie, because that’s how politics works these days.

Also, I think he has a bad case of Officer Privilege, and doesn’t realize that life for many enlisted people (and some officers) isn’t all flags and glory. Sometimes they enlist to get out of poverty. Or to afford college. Or just because they need something to do with their life. And the contract, no matter what your reason for service, includes healthcare.

I am confused how a wounded veteran thinks that veterans don’t deserve healthcare, though. So none of Crenshaw’s military medical expenses were covered by government-provided healthcare? No Tricare? No VA? Because that would make him a hypocrite.

Nah, see, he got his Free Healthcare the proper way, by getting elected to Congress...

All those other lazy veterans just need to do the same...

This clip need to be fucking projected on buildings outside the Senate 24/7...

I hate to say this, but if we really took a critical eye to college sexual assaults at all colleges, I wouldn't be shocked if that was an average.

I was so hoping he was going to represent himself. That would be the most Giuliani thing ever and would have been hilarious.

Oh cool, I guess the US has decided to hand over ISIS captives to Turkey...the country that helped arm them and allowed them passage during the Syrian civil war and stand back while Turkey invades Syria.

All but signing the certificate of official Kurdish genocide.

There has never been a Kurdish genocide.

There will never be a Kurdish genocide.

There has never been an Armenian genocide.

There will never be an Armenian genocide.

Who are these mythical "Kurdish" or "Armenian" people you speak of? The only people living in Turkey are true, honest Turks. Of course.

This is more personal to me than anything else but I argued with a dude on twitter about Jordan Peterson and RIP my notifications. It's always amazing how someone that harps on the importance of precision in language says so many things that sound awful without 10 hours of confext.

Hint: he means the 1st part, the 2nd part is just attempting to hide the message from people who didn't cheer for the "precise language" used...

As I said when I was mocking Stefan Molyneux in the funny thread, ladies and gentlemen, the IDW.

He and JP give Canadians the worst name.

If you’re in to podcasts, I really enjoyed the latest Hidden Brain episode. It talks about what really frustrates me about the current political discourse.

Turn on the news or look at Twitter, and it's likely you'll be bombarded by outrage. Many people have come to believe that the only way to spark change is to incite anger. This week on Hidden Brain, how outrage is hijacking our conversations, our communities, and our minds.

Been following that one since it's essentially local.
I feel like even if convicted, people will say she deserved more, but then they'll say they'll take what they can get.

And they wonder why we are outraged? I’m tired of being angry all the time, and seriously would like a short rest back to normalcy.

Time for me to lose some rights; press F to pay respects.
Only two of the people deciding your rights have been accused of sexual assault. A new record.

Honestly, if things go the way they're likely to go, it really is time to start ripping people down from their high perches and setting them up in the gallows where they belong.
