I'm not sure that's what was stated? As @sixpackshaker already remarked, what he said is true, although one can quibble the his particular choice of words.

Exactly. The word "immigrant" doesn't have to mean free or voluntary. So technically Carson is correct. It's just a really, really poor choice of words.

To me it is like the text book that was talking about the same issue. 1st sentence called them slaves, the next sentence called them workers. And the shit hit the fan. Over nothing.

Same speech he talked about how we store memories and we could "download" them and recall things from 60 years ago in perfect clarity. Several memory and brain experts have said, "Uh...no. That's not how that works." I'll give him a pass for sounding stupid on something like the slave trade (even though you'd think as a black man he'd be a bit more sensitive towards the issue) but as a neurosurgeon you think he'd get stuff about the BRAIN right. Right?

The white house is already denying the numbers before they're released. Also, I thought these numbers were super-confidential because of the audit.
