The Disney Thread: For Everything Concerning the House of Mouse

Hang on, if Ahsoka was around 5 years after RotJ, what's with all the "Luke you're our last hope." BS? Why didn't Yoda and Obi-Wan enlist her help in confronting Vader? I know she's not technically a Jedi by that point, but come on.
That might have been a plot-hole with the original plan for the OT, but once the ESB twist came about, then it no longer was about getting bodies with force powers to help, was it.

8 parts?

Did someone in the production staff hire someone to murder a rival or something?

Otherwise, that seems excessive.

As long as there has been an extended universe there have been a ton of jedi tooling around the galaxy. Probably due to the Jedi being by far the coolest thing about the Star Wars universe so you kinda need one in your new series to really make it Star Wars.

Course that aside I'm not really a fan of Ashoka. She's a character that has gone toe to toe with both Vsder and Palpatine scoring a weak victory each time but by canon she's doomed to never effect anything of real value in the main Star Wars universe.

With so many new additions to the lore there have been so many plot holes and straight up retconning. I give Disney a lot of credit because they are far better about trying to maintain continuity and character arcs than George Lucas ever was.
My guess is that it was very clear to the all knowledgeable Jedis that “only hope” meant they knew that the only possible person who could reach Darth Vader was his son. Darth would have killed any of them, including Asoka, if they had faced off. He was too powerful. Only someone who could redeem Vader would have a chance at all.

Rebels Spoilers. Watch "Twilight of the Apprentice" and "A World Between Worlds" for the details here.

Ahsoka only lived through her confrontation with Vader on Malacor because Ezra essentially pulled her out of time into the future thanks to a Force artifact and sheer chance, as he did this after the fact and didn't even know it was possible at the time. She was seconds away from dying at Vader's hand; she never had a chance and she knew it, she only did it to save Kanen and Ezra.

After the Battle of Endor, she's teamed up with Sabine Wren to find Ezra after the finale of Rebels. She's going to show up in The Mandalorian next season, so she's alive at least that long.

Star Wars fans: If you were a fan of the Clone Wars TV show, go and watch the finale season on Disney+. It's worth the Free Trial alone, especially the final 4 episodes, which are better than some of the movies. Perfectly sets up for Rebels and I'm hoping we get another season of Rebels on Disney+ since Star Wars: Resistance was cancelled.

Just finished Clone Wars. Very satisfying and pretty sure the final four episodes will be packaged as a movie as some point.

The series has a shaky start but there are some truly great stories about war and is effect on people throughout.

Here's hoping for more Rebels to allow Filloni to complete that story too.

Welp, here we go. I made another one-page gag comic strip with artist Sam Owen, the who did the Avengers Endgame gag strip with me last year. This time, I had a silly idea involving The Mandalorian.

I'm particularly proud of this one because unlike last time, I wrote up an actual script for this. This is the first time I've seen a script I've written come to life, which is incredibly surreal.

So, you know how Disney was planning on releasing Hamilton in theaters in October 2021?

Well, they're now dropping it on Disney+ this year on July 3rd.

Ehh... art house theaters aren't going anywhere. Somebody, somewhere is going to want to put a movie on the wall, if only because they can't afford to get it released digitally or they want to be treated like an auteur. And places like Alamo have dinner and booze, they're a full date night.

But Regal? AMC? Yeah, they better watch their ass.

I hope they do, because directors are going to want their movies in theaters. There's too much history of that being "THE way" to watch a movie. Which means there most likely will be movie theaters showing movies, and if they aren't the existing chains then... Well, they're the movie studios owning their own theaters, and we've been there, and it was bad.

I think the biggest thing is that theaters are still going to be THE go-to for a lot places outside of the US, especially for the crowd that NEEDS 3D.
