[News] The USA Police State will never satisfy its lust for beating, gassing, and imprisoning minorities

A new ruling is in force in Portland after the judge found that the cops were just outright ignoring the previous TRO against targeting press and legal observers. It pissed the cops off last night like we haven't seen in ages. They directly targeted and shot at least 6 members of the press and three medics - all in the head - with various munitions (but mostly with grenades). They also arrested two medics and three members of the press. Meanwhile, the police chief is making speeches and calling for everyday citizens to step up and stop the protesting, which has led to armed guards being posted at most of the black leaders' homes in the city, because armed right-wing assholes keep showing up and threatening their children and parents with guns.

Oh, and apparently there is video - which I haven't seen yet - that shows the ex-navy SEAL who threw the pipe bombs at protesters in Laurelhurst park a while back hanging out with the PPB at the waterfront, having a grand old time, and buddying it up. Then later that night, throwing pipe bombs at protesters. It wasn't a same-day occurrence. He was hanging with his buddies the feds and PPB in July. Here's the video.

Oh, and I posted a link to it in the guns thread, but I figured I'd name drop here as well. Sportsman's Guide is a great source for body armor, helmets, and assorted gear and clothing. I was able to get this Italian body armor suit delivered in under a week, whereas Spartan and DFNDR are quoting 10 - 12 week lead times (and they're expensive as hell). Their helmet selection is a little limited, but they at least have NATO kevlar helmets for an affordable price and in stock. I'm still waiting on my other helmet shipment from a month ago and those helmets aren't even ballistic rated, only impact - but with really nice side rails for attaching lights and such. <shrug> Maybe the rails will fit on the NATO helms. I suspect the original shipment is lost somewhere in the mail.

Ugh. Apparently I should have been paying more attention to what was going on in Texas, where the state has spent hundreds of hours and offered $1000 cash rewards to arrest 14 people who protested against police brutality, most of them at gun point, months after the protests happened.

Here's someone being shot in the arm with an explosive of some sort by a fascist. The cops don't care about this at all. The LRAD keeps telling people to self-police and be kind to each other because everyone's point of view matters.

Now that the white supremacists have left, this has been declared an unlawful assembly and PPB is threatening to use teargas on the people who were just beaten, maced, shot at, driven into, and kicked. They're attacking now with impact munitions.

So for today's afternoon action in Portland, two Black Lives protesters were hit with explosives and hospitalized with serious injuries. These were not fireworks, and looked very similar to the flash bombs that the ex-Navy SEAL used in Laurelhurst park from the 4 seconds I had eyes on them - which is to say it's not a very well informed opinion. There's the one I linked above, and a second one that we don't have video for yet, where a person's collarbone was broken after a bomb went off on their chest. It sounds like they may also have experienced a cardiac event of some sort from the blast. Several people were shot in the head with paintballs shot from a variety of armaments, including the ones the cops like to shoot from their ARs. Several armed blue lives protesters drew their weapons on black lives protesters, including Alan Swinney, who drew his cocked revolver while his finger was on the trigger, pointed it at someone's face, and yelled "I will fucking kill you."

He didn't, thankfully, but this is where we are now. For two weeks now, alt-right militias have gathered in Portland to Bork the Blup and run rampant through PDX, threatening, assaulting, and firing upon protesters. Because even though Swinney didn't fire when he threatened to, he did so later on, as his group was retreating. Tiny Toese, a Proud Boy who is currently on probation and is barred from attending protests in Multnomah County not only attended the protest today, but cops watched from 10 feet away as he knocked a woman unconscious with punch to the face and didn't arrest him. Instead, they formed a shield wall and escorted the Proud Boys to safety. Then, and only then, did the PPB declare the gathering an unlawful assembly, as federal agents left their sty to go provide an extrication for some 3pers that got themselves surrounded in a park across the street. Eventually the Portlanders pushed the DHS troops back into the IRS building, but not before they assaulted everyone in the park a time or two more for sport.

The PPB, FBI, DHS, State Patrol, MCSO, and all of the departments with whom PPB has mutual aid agreements have chosen every time to side with the alt-right aggressors. I am beginning to see the shape of my enemies' faces, though I do not yet see the whites of their eyes.

Alright, the nightly Portland march against police brutality has begun, and it's already been stopped by cops who're complaining that people are throwing things at officers (they're not). So the peaceful protesters can't march on the police precinct without having the cops close roads and block the route, but the Proud Boys can do literally whatever they want.

This was declared a riot at 2358 local. The cops are just brutally assaulting people, not even bothering to arrest most of them. They had a female NLG member by the hair, then kneed her in the face as hard as they could. They've stampeded members of the press. They've picked people up and thrown them into the street, then beaten the ever loving fuck out of them. This afternoon they did nothing. Not one single thing. They released a press release saying that they had to take the events of the last 80+ days into account when deciding whether or not the members of the city needed defending, and decided that since the community was protesting them, they weren't worth mobilizing officers over. They threatened earlier to fire tear gas grenades onto an overpass over I-84. They've been using flash bangs in a residential neighborhood and when they mounted up to roll out, they smoked a house with a grenade even though there were no protesters anywhere near them.

PPB continues its assault on people of color, as last night/this morning, every person arrested for rioting or resisting arrest was released on their own recognizance with $0 bail amounts, unless they were BIPOC, in which case they're looking at at least $2500 bail for each charge. Some are facing $250,000 bail from two days ago. Oh, and this morning they arrested the frontline ASL Interpreter for interfering with a peace officer. How the hell does an ASL interpreter interfere with a peace officer? By refusing to stop signing at them.

Here's a video of one of the homemade hand grenades the Proud Boys used on Portlanders yesterday. At least two individuals were seriously injured when these went off on their bodies yesterday.

Well, I just got home and caught up on the weekend and I'm glad I avoided social media out there or I legitimately would have been a nightmarish grump.

Everything I saw made me so angry that I could literally feel my blood pressure spike.

I don't know how you guys stayed so in control. I know I would have had a hard time not breaking a few jaws. Maybe that's why I'm an ex-ACAB and not a protestor right now.

I don't expect any further encounters to remain as one-sided. The mood in Portland changed yesterday. In the overnight action, the riot was actually called because the cops managed to get themselves kettled in a neighborhood and needed the riot justification to gas their way out, because the protesters had them surrounded and weren't letting up. It was still just a slow, deliberate march with shields up for defense, but the cops could've been in real trouble. We'll see what today's action brings. The meeting spot would put the marchers easily within range of the North Precinct, where they helped the cops write off three old SUVs the other day.

Portland was amazingly tame tonight compared to Kenosha. We've already started seeing calls for direct action marches for tomorrow in solidarity with Kenosha, however, so I don't expect tomorrow to be nearly as quiet.

First of all: KEH-NOH-SHA. Just a public service announcement.

Second: that's right behind Washington Muni, over by Mary D. Hmm. Been a long while since I've been in Kenosha, but that's... not quite the area I'd expect issues?

Third: Uh, the county courthouse IIRC is pretty much like a block or two away from the main firehouse downtown, right by Reuther. It might have been burning but not for long...?

EDIT: I read the USA Today article. I think I can understand why the police shot, but six, seven times? And apparently what was burning was a city truck used as a roadblock.

Oh, there were SEVERAL of city trucks and dump trucks burning. And the courthouse was on fire several times throughout the night. Also, a car lot burned and it took the fire department at least an hour to show up and do anything about it to try to save a church from going up in flames as well. When the fire department did show up on scene initially, they sprayed water (not foam) on one hot car and then left. It wasn't until several streamers (from fucking Portland, on a road trip to DC, no less) started trying to use the rain barrels on the church to wet down the grass between it and the lot that the fire department showed back up and tried to actually extinguish the fire.

I mean, Krisken may have more specific details from living there, but from watching it all happen live, there was a LOT of fire in Kenosha this morning.

edit: Sorry, @jwhouk, it appears that I continue to misjudge you. No excuses. Just, sorry.

Also this weekend apparently
I don't know. Not to be a devils advocate on this one, but the people recording this said he had a knife, was being tasered but ignored it, and then was trying to enter a possibly crowded gas station before they opened fire. I was expecting him to just be walking on the sidewalk as they shot him, but this situation could have gotten a whole lot worst could the guy decided to use the supposed knife turning whoever was in the gas station into a hostage.

I really feel we need more information on what happened before I get out the pitch forks.

I get upset when I see cops use extreme escalation of force in situations where the public isn't in any danger, like the guy getting shot in his car just a few posts up, but I have to accept that use of such force is necessary when the public is in notable danger. I just don't know what that guy was going to do once he got into that gas station, and it makes it so much more murky for me. I really hope I can get more information on the events that lead up to this.

again, there were enough officers present to restrain him without letting him get literally to the door of the gas station and opening fire.

but honestly? Im tired of this stuff. I’m not gonna argue it anymore and im also not gonna share the “watch this guy die” videos anymore. Im just sick and tired if all of it.

Edit: and im not at all being confrontational or disagreeing with you here @ScytheRexx i want to make that clear. Im just generally hurting a lot about all this right now.. I don’t think it’s a secret that my younger brother is a young black man and i fear for him every day.

You don't have to worry about him! There are a couple of easy steps to take to avoid being killed by cops!
1. Never do anything aggressive or illegal.
2. When confronted by cops or other law enforcement, be polite, submissive, and compliant.
3. Don't venture outdoors.
4. Be or seem white.
5. Be or appear rich.
:(

I totally understand man. I ain't trying to downplay the atrocities carried out by many police officers. I just feel that defending people that seem to be very notable threats can be counter-productive to the goal, and can be used as ammunition by douche bags that always want to paint BLM as a group looking for black power (We can threaten anyone we want) rather then black equality (Stop killing us for no reason assholes) This is why I want to know more about what happened, or if he even had a knife, before I make any formal conclusion on the situation.

Just to add more clarity, I am only going off what I saw and what the people in the car claimed. They said he had a knife, which means tackling him would likely lead to the first cop going in for the tackle to have a knife in the gut or back, possibly a few times before the next cop would rush in to knock him down. The car occupants also said they tasered him, but that he powered through it, which means now you got a guy able to shrug off electrical jolts who still has a knife. At that point when he is going into a store with people, I can see a call needing to be made. I don't like it, I never like it when someone dies, but those moments are where we see the process carry out how it should (Escalation of Force). Not a dude sitting in his car reaching for an ID or a boy playing alone in a park with a toy gun getting immediately shot, instead a seemingly unfazed uncooperative guy who isn't going down by non-lethal means walking into a small, possibly occupied building with a close range weapon and a bunch of police on his tail. If it turns out he didn't have a visible knife, or they didn't even attempt to restrain him non-lethally before he hit that gas station, then the whole situation changes.

I hope your brother is doing okay, and gets the support he needs from those close to him through this troubled year, because I can't even imagine how much fear he must go through. The system needs a jolt and I hope we see some really progress someday sooner rather then later.

Sorry, witness statements and videos are already leaking. Trayford Pellerin wasn't armed. He didn't have a knife. It wasn't in his hands. He didn't shrug off two successful tasings. Guess what? The cops fucking lied after shooting yet another black man in the back for no fucking reason. You have got to stop blindly fucking accepting what these murderous assholes are saying as truth, playing devil's advocate, or giving them the benefit of the doubt. We've been in the streets protesting this shit for almost 90 days now and they're still completely secure in the knowledge that if they continue to shoot black people in the back, people like you will come rushing to their defense to play devil's advocate because surely - surely! - there must have been a reason for the cops to murder this man. He must have deserved it for some character flaw in his background. There must have been some reason for the cops to kill this man. Oh, he had a knife? OK, that's enough for me. Guess what? Cops aren't supposed to kill guilty people either.

Oh hey - Here's something super fun. Franky Nitty's group that's marching from Milwaukee to DC was just shot at by a group of white people with at least one shotgun. They shot one of the marchers in the face. They're at the hospital now. But hey, I bet that black person did something worthy of being shot at some point in time in his life, so that's probably a clean shoot too.

How about this one from last night though - where one of our medics was shot in the back with a shotgun from a drive by while leaving the protests, after the driver shouted "blue lives matter." Surely there must have been a reason why our medic needed to be shot in the fucking back, right? Cops and their buddies don't shoot people unless they have a valid justification, they just don't do that. They're mostly good people.

Have you even fucking read whats been going on in Portland, Chicago, Milwaukee, LA, NYC, Arizona, Florida, the Carolinas, Houston, Austin, Minneapolis, and all throughout the rest of the US? It's time to be angry. It's time for cops to stop killing people, period. You know they're not supposed to kill guilty people either, right?
