[TV] Talk about the last TV you watched, the catchall thread

Hey! I like NCIS!

But yeah, it's not really a cop show in the later seasons, definitely. It's a soap opera in a cop setting. I vastly prefer it to CSI or the NCIS spin-offs, though.

This is a weird point to make, but I think I've reached an equilibrium with how I juggle watching every-fucking-show. I mostly watch network stuff week-to-week, and cable/prestige shows I watch in several episode chunks at once or even whole seasons.

More specifically - The Grinder was totally off my radar, but I watched the first three episodes on Netflix and laughed my butt off. Then, of course, found out it was mercilessly cancelled.

I really enjoyed the Grinder.

Was it cancelled so mercilessly though? I mean, any show that has a character as GUT WRENCHINGLY annoying as Ethan is gonna be on the chopping block. Wanted to smack that kid.

BUT-there was at least enough good in this pilot season that a second one could redeem it.

Of the people I know that have watched it, you are in the minority of not liking it. Personal taste and all that

I DID say there was enough good in it that a pilot could redeem it didn't I? Like, the ones where they focused on Dean's acting career-LOVED-those, they humanized the guy. Maybe the second season should've had him getting back to his acting roots, instead of continue to play the Grinder. ALSO-acknowledge Ethan is the prick of misery he is, little jack ass.

Okay out of ALL the weird things I do, not liking a bratty kid-character on a sitcom should not be one of them, just saying.

Brooklyn 9-9:

Pretty good ep but...is Newgirl actually any good? From the clips I've seen, and the cameo of their main character I'm not given much confidence.

I wasn't really sure I'd like the Scream TV series, but it's actually not bad so far. It's basically any CW superhero show, but with a slasher movie theme instead of capes and powers.

God I love the B99 Halloween episodes.
GRAH-missed another one, what is WRONG with me?

Daredevil season 2

Hmmmmmmmm, this guy just bought a bunch of dangerous weapons from me, and said barely a word while doing it...I'll ask if he likes kiddy porn, that sounds sensical!

WASTED!

I didn't realize TNT was still around. Looking up their show list, I can see why I lost track of them.
Ehh... their original stuff is okay. Librarians is basically a PG version of Supernatural. Fallen Skies was basically The Walking Dead But With Aliens. But yes, it mostly exists to air reruns of dramas at this point.

Yeah but... there's like three or four CW shows in all its history that are worth watching.
Flash
iZombie
Supergirl
Supernatural
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

I mean, 5 shows currently worth watching on one network is pretty good, I'd say. I've heard Legends of Tomorrow is alright but I still have to finish the first season.

Hrm. I must respectfully disagree with some of the items on your list, but I do not begrudge you your enjoyment of them.

Supernatural needs to end soon. It's not BAD, in fact it can be quite good still. But it's only a matter of time until it goes full suck.

I would say this would be Buffy, Angel, Gilmore Girls, and Veronica Mars for me, if we're counting CW as the merger of the WB and UPN.

(As far as future potential, Supergirl is good so far, Legends of Tomorrow is a'ight, I admit I haven't watched Flash or Arrow.)

I was surprised with the most recent season, it was pretty good all-around. I've come to expect about a 50/50 ratio of good to suck, but I'd put the last one at like 80/20.

Well I liked 7th Heaven. Also large parts of One Tree Hill were great, but I could be biased there, since the show takes place and was filmed in NC.

Dramas
Supernatural (2006) (The WB: 2005–06)
The Vampire Diaries (2009)
Arrow (2012)
The Originals (2013)
Reign (2013)
The 100 (2014)
The Flash (2014)
iZombie (2015)
Legends of Tomorrow (2016)
Supergirl (2016) (CBS: 2015–16)
Frequency (2016)

Comedies
Jane the Virgin (2014)
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2015)
No Tomorrow (2016)

um.

I haven't seen the two new shows, but I think the CW is actually the best network (NETWORK! NOT CABLE) as far as hit/miss ratios go. They're a little helped by not having to fill as much time as ABC/CBS/NBC, but

I like CW a lot, but a lot of times their stuff is too CW for my taste, if that makes any sense. All of their shows have the same production look, which is hard to explain, and it can get to be overloading if you watch a lot of them.
