Well folks it is all over for another year. And here with a concise summary of todays trades is a pair of crickets.

Chirp chirp,
Chirp, chirp.

And now back to TSN with an indepth analysis of the length of Ms Larionovs skirt today.

No, that sound you hear is someone tuning a couple of banjos down to the south.

Gastaud and the Kostitsyns. Not exactly the same as having a Nash in Nashville, but our penalty kill just got 300x better.

Well, you remember the day we traded for Forsberg?

It's kinda like that. Except we've actually won a playoff series now.

And we have our own answer to the Sedin Twins: SK47 and AK46.

You guys answered them just fine last year. Kesler on the other hand...

Mixed feelings n the trade deadline for me. I can't believe Nashville actually gave us a first rounder for Gaustad. He's a decent 3rd/4th line center, but he's gonna be a UFA. We fleeced you.
Looking at the Hodgson trade, it sounds like its a good deal on paper, but I just don't like giving Kassian away. I was really looking forward to watching him develop. I think he's gonna be great for vancouver down the line.

Was wondering what a Buffalo fan thought of that trade. From a Canucks perspective it sucks to lose Hodgson he was really becoming a fan favorite over here. He's NHL ready and should be an immediate contributor in your lineup. Kassian sounds like he could be a good fit provided translate his AHL success to the NHL. Here's hoping this trade is beneficial for both sides. I like when the sabres are doing well.

Big news today seemed to be that it was actually Nash who requested a move, not the Blue Jackets organization who approached him. Guess he'll be headed somewhere after all in the summer.

Was just about to post that. Just found out 10 min ago. Walking home, skipping from station to station, hear BTO and settle on good old Q107. Dominic Diamond comes on and says Ron Wilson's fired and it looks like Carlyle will take over.

I'm not terribly shocked but honestly I don't see the point in firing him now. Its not likely that a new coach is going to come in, instantly gain the trust and respect of his new squad, and lead the Leafs into a 19 game winning streak. Might as well have let him close out the season on his own, with whatever dignity he was able to keep left (Or to let him resign, "voluntarily")

Plus I don't think I like Carlyle as the replacement. I'm pretty sure I read there's some bad blood between he and Lupul. I liked the other choice better, of bringing up Eakins from the Marlies, who he's coached into a VERY comfy spot in the AHL standings this year. He's a good fit for a young team, and he'll likely be coaching the NHL in the not to distant future, but its doubtful it will be for the Leafs now.

Ladies and Gentleman, I give you Goaltender interference roughing, a feat that can be achieved by having a member of the opposing team shove you into the goaltender.

Video when I can find it. Absolutely atrocious call.

So the asking price for Nash has been leaked;
2 top 6 forwards
2 top prospects
1 1st round draft pick

No wonder he wasn't moved.

And I think we can all agree that based upon the photoes, Garon is delivering a belly to belly suplex to that poor Carolina player and should face disciplinary action for his actions.

Yeah that was a pretty crazy story. Not sure I feel sorry for him though. players on both teams, and the whole crowd, seemed to be pretty supportive of him. He got the first star despite letting in 13 goals, and I've heard that wanting to play in goal is apparently something of a fantasy for a lot of skaters.

God I hate watching the Pens on NBC. Mike Milbury bitches about everything the Penguins do for like 5 minutes on each separate occasion.

Not only did the Leafs lose to Philly at home last night, but my other team, the Toronto Rock, was losing to the Philadelphia Wings at the same time. The LaCrosse game sounds like it was way more exciting though.

Hate the Flyers but I have to give Giroux credit. His shootout goal was a beauty.

You know the game is bad when the commentators literally apologize for the lack of anything interesting happening on the ice.

I'm feeling much better right now. Even if I'm starting to think Saturday night's tilt at the Bridge was a preview of the Western Conference Quarters.

KHL and Ufa have bitten back: Ufa is refusing to let him go, since by letting him go back to the NHL, they would lose their rights to him.

HOWEVER, if he comes back to Nashville in the fall, Ufa would still have the rights to Rads - but he'd have to play an entire season with Nashville. And, possibly, do so without one of the "big two" on the blue line.
