[News] The USA Police State will never satisfy its lust for beating, gassing, and imprisoning minorities

Who is the black guy in this photo? Is he a friend? Is he playing along? Are they all just having a bit of fun? A photo like this without context can certainly be used incorrectly. I think the two cops based on the article are pretty bad dudes, but that doesn't mean that this photo is a bad thing.
Looks like 3 cops having a bit of fun at a costume party.

As a rural person I am offended that they use me as a costume.

He was a detainee, arrested for possession of marijuana but later released without filing an arrest record.

Also, what's a good context for "white cops mimic the classic 'posing with the kill' picture but with a black guy as the hunted animal"?

Okay so the context is about what the picture stated. [citation needed as I haven't seen this anywhere else] Without that context it could very well be a bunch of guys just clowning around. And good context could be three guys clowning around. And it's also possible that you are the only one of the people involved (the three in the picture and the viewer) that is bringing race into it. Turns out that it's probably not the case [citation needed].

If I took some pictures with my black friends, it's possible that someone could read things into them that weren't meant to be there. When friends do things together or take pictures, race isn't a consideration.

I think he was looking for a source which he would consider more credible. I can understand, really, I've been burned by bad sources in the past myself.

The article that was linked said nothing about who the guy was. Unless I just missed it. I did read it, though.

Cached page? They might have added more links after publishing the article. The first sentence has a link to the Sun Times.

I don't usually follow links in articles. If they can't be bothered to print everything of note, I feel there's no reason to be on their page. It's kind of a salient point that should have been in their story.

Given the fact that many stories turn out to be based on a story from a story from a story from a website that turns out to be BS, I'm much more cautious about what I believe and generally check the sources.

It's interesting how differently you get treated by police when you don't go down kicking, screaming and flailing, or try to run. The trick that smart people have learned is that the time to protest an unjust arrest is before the judge, not to the arresting officer.
this is a really nasty and putrid post, even for you.[DOUBLEPOST=1433080153,1433079946][/DOUBLEPOST]
Anyone else notice Charlie hasn't been around since May 5? :(
I got mad and left to calm down, then forgot to come back, then forgot what made me mad in the first place

Also I wish some of y'all used the same scrutiny of white guys posing with a black guy like he's a fucking dead prize animal on the "official police accounts" that have been proven to be outright blatant lies by video on dozens (if not more) occasions at this point.

Here's some stuff I have read lately on the thread's subject:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/natio...22256a-058e-11e5-a428-c984eb077d4e_story.html

Police killings are on track to be two times the FBI's semi-official yearly estimate.

This tackles the "Myth of the Hero Cop" that has pretty much became fact in most people's eyes.

It is far safer to be a NYPD officer than an average black man in Baltimore.
And policework doesn't crack the 10 most dangerous jobs in America.

I wish posing with a live human like he's a dead animal was the worst thing those Chicago police did. But nah, it's way worse than anything on The Shield in reality!

Meh, this is a pretty crappy article and doesn't tackle much of anything more than your typical OP-ED crap-o-rama piece.

Just last week a third-grade teacher at Forest Street Elementary School in Orange, New Jersey, was lambasted for promoting “anti-police sentiment.” Her offense: having her third-graders write get-well cards to Mumia Abu-Jamal, a man serving a life sentence for killing a police officer nearly 34 years ago.
lol. This dude's really stretching.

"Did everyone finish their get-well-soon cards for the convicted cop killer?" I wouldn't want my kids corresponding via letters to convicts either. If you're doing letter writing in school why not have students pick who to send a letter to? Why a convicted cop killer? Oh it's black history month? There are much better black cultural leaders to send letters to.

Anyone else really, really, really, sick of seeing garbage news articles posted as primary literature and fact? Slate? Huffpost? Foxnews? Brietbart? It's all serving an agenda. You're doing nothing more than appeasing your own confirmation bias.[DOUBLEPOST=1433082874,1433082623][/DOUBLEPOST]

Which is exactly why I take news article reporting with a grain of salt anymore. No one reports the news anymore, they make the news.

Exactly this. I find almost all sources of news to be tiresome and attempting to only supply information which supports their bias.

I'm not going to call slate or huffpo bastions of journalism or unbiased, but I think it's really insulting and wrong to put them on the same level as fucking breitbart. Don't they still believe Obama and Agenda 42 poisoned their namesake in favor of the global lizard people muslim empire or some shit?

At this point I find places which are only a little off in their reporting more dangerous than those who are way off. At least the way off group trips most of our BS detectors.
