The shoulders are a tad off, like Lilsin kinda touched on, but I like her a lot. I like the gray you used, I like her cute, sort of shy/canaille smile, and I love the way you did her hair. :)

You are too kind, Miss Seej. :) I'm a sucker for sideways half-smiles.

More people...

Still not sure what I'm gonna do with 'em but I've been drawing a lot of people.

You should be posting more artwork Gusto. Paint more art , post more art. No excuses

You mean... like I just did? What the hell are you talking about!?

Anyway, background's done on this one.

Will draw and start the portrait part on this and the other one as soon as I have a day off, maybe on the weekend.

it's not enough! IT'S NEVER ENOUGH!

Unfortunately I haven't had time to paint recently. At all. It's all been school and work and socializing. I think there may be a break soon but I don't wanna jinx it. I just wanna get to work on this stuff.

Anyway, thanks for the kind words. :)

Still no time to paint, but I've been sketching mostly every day. Here's something from this afternoon:

It ain't perfect but I feel like I'm getting somewhere, with poses and hands specifically.

Keep up the good work

and if it's any consolation it looks much better than anything I could ever hope to draw :)

I like the nose. I could never draw a good nose. They always made the person look deformed. She's very cute!

Hmm.

Much like 90% of every drawing I've ever done, I don't even like it the next day.

Shit.

Something small from the margins of my DnD notebook. Like most of the doodling I'm somewhat happy with lately it's riddled with my own notes and often on papers that I either can't or shouldn't scan.

Finally got the time to do some painting, for the first time since like September.

I'll have to wait until it's dry to do details like eyelashes, hair, eyebrows, eye details, et cetera. But it's nice to have finally worked on it again.

Back when I drew for fun, I could never do the hems of dresses. I like the woman in your painting. I'm really loving the colors you chose, too. I can't wait to see how it turns out. If I had to make one comment--and this might be wrong, because I'm no artist--but the left eye looks a little off, like it's looking a little too far off to the left (or her right) when compared to the other eye. But the shape of the eyes and the shadows around her nose are wonderful. :)

I want to learn to draw clothes like you :3
Thanks man, I'm just starting to get the hang of it myself. (Get it!? Hang of it!? As in drapery? ...I'm a nerd.)

but the left eye looks a little off, like it's looking a little too far off to the left (or her right) when compared to the other eye.
I noticed this myself and have since already taken steps to rectify it. Thanks for the kind words and I hope to be able to put some more work in on it over my Christmas holiday.

Absolutely love the green-haired girl picture. Fantastic work. If I could afford it right now, I would totally make some requests.

how much figure drawing do you do per day? Do you do anatomical studies, or life drawing?

do you have posemaniacs book marked?

Time to get on that, then. You have a great sense of line and illustrative style, but I think the underpinnings of your stuff relies too much on derivative understanding of anatomy rather than direct daily practice. If you want to be a world class marathoner, you run every day. If you want your art to "SELL" you draw every day, right?

I've just spent the last few minutes looking around at Posemaniacs. The 30 Second Drawing Exercise actually seems like it'll be really useful. I might have to start giving that a shot.

If you want notes, your heads are too narrow front to back. General rule of thumb is the same distance front to back as the distance from peak of skull to chin. Lengthen the jawline, too. Though I suspect the problems are related.
