Whine like a baby, now with 500% more drama!

Day 3 with a mystery splotchy rash on my left upper back. It itches enough that hydrocodone cream is doing jack. It intermittently feels like someone is pushing needles into my back muscles. It quietens down when I stop moving my arms, but it's distracting me a lot at work and when doing chores. Haven't scratched it (I mostly can't reach it), but I keep daydreaming about taking a cheesegrater to it.

What's been keeping me awake are my legs, my ankles/calves keep radiating dull pain in the evenings/night. Started the same day as the rash. Ibuprofen 1-2h before bedtime worked last night, though, so more of sidekick whine.
I'd give you a hugs rating, but I definitely don't want what you have. Sorry.

"Air hugs" for you.

FYI poison ivy/sumac/etc rashes do not respond to antihistamines (assuming you meant “hydrocortisone cream” instead of hydrocodone, though the idea of topical Vicodin does have a certain appeal).
Oops, corrected. Yeah, wish I had some of that :p

Good to know. Unsure how I would've come in contact with any that, given how little outdoors time I got this weekend. It would explain why neither the cream nor desloratadine are effective in the least.

Earache over the weekend. Realized yesterday that it was coming more from the back of my mouth/jaw. Got in to see a dentist today.

Guess who's got a cracked tooth in the back of the mouth?

I hope you have a good dentist. It makes a WORLD of difference. I had a root canal years ago and it was 100% fine because my dentist was awesome. I miss Dr. Roots. My current dentist is fine, but not as exceptionally great.

Yes I had a root canal from a dentist named Dr. Roots. Feel free to make jokes at that one. I'm sure he's heard them all, but I'd like to hear a few. ;)

In this context, what is interpretation? This seems like a specific term here.
Verbal translation, basically. A speaker says something in one language, and we're to listen to it and output the meaning into another language. This can be done simultaneously, in which the interpreter speaks at the same time as the speaker and the audience listens to the interpreted output through headphones, or consecutively, in which the speaker and the interpreter take turns speaking. Simultaneous and consecutive interpretation require many of the same skills, such as language skills, analytical skills, quick reactions, cultural sensitivity, good short-term memory, etc. Unfortunately, my language skills have deteriorated, my analytical skills are poor, my reactions are sluggish, my cultural knowledge and sensitivity is mediocre, and I've reached an age where my memory isn't what it used to be.

My office is freezing and I am freezing. Like blue nails and shivering. I found out today that I can’t have a space heater. It’s going to be a very long winter ...

Then buddy shows up in shorts!?!

Also, the box of bears has been in Miami for days.

Ah, how I would say it would be "I'm getting training to act as (or be an) interpreter." In contrast, when you said "I've forgotten how to do interpretation" you really confused me as to me "interpretation" can mean a number of things, usually meaning that whatever document you were given could mean different things depending on how it's interpreted.

At least that's what I was seeing, but that also didn't make sense for the rest of the context, and hence my question. I appreciate the clarification.

The town where I grew up had a podiatrist named Dr. Smelsey. His sign even made Real People. When he started doing laser surgery, he changed it to Dr. Lazar.

No joke...my wife's OBGYN in Texas was named Dr. Finger.

My current dentist Dr. Meals--only tangentially tooth related.

I have the same thing but it's in my arm pit. It won't heal and itches like crazy. I've had it for probably a year. No medications help and I scratch it in my sleep and when I'm concentrating on other things.

Do you use anti-perspirant? That can aggravate stuff like that. Other than that, only thing is to put hydrocortisone cream on it till it clears up.

I've been having to cut way back on the smell-good under that arm but it doesn't seem to help. Nothing I've tried has worked. Doctors said to leave it alone and keep it dry.

"Ooh, dermatology, tough field! If it's wet, keep it dry, if it's dry, keep it wet, and if it isn't supposed to be there, cut it off." - Gregory House, M.D.

I love House!

I’m freezing again. It’s monsoon season outside or something and I’m super cold. After the world’s most awkward conference call, you think that I would be overheated with shame/sort of anger lol.

I did nothing wrong. I will be annoyed for the rest of the day and will move on for tomorrow. The person who is responsible is someone I really like and they’ve apologized.

3 tiny fillings requiring 45 minutes spread over 2 appointments and 700 dollars before insurance, this is because teenage bones didnt believe in taking care of his teeth and older bones is just shit about nightly brushing and flossing >_> i have the money and I can pay for the work but its still a good hit because the insurance pays me back for what i spend, so I have to cough up 690 dollars in 3 weeks and get half of it(probably) back in a check from my dental insurance provider.

Dave's parents (his mom especially) thought that toothpaste was a scam and that flavored toothpaste was just sugar to sell the stuff. So...yeah. Same boat here, Bones.

the best part is this is preventative maintenance on both my dentist and mines part. the cavities are not painful and surface only, but cheaper to fix now and look at as in investment in forgoing major dental work for a longer time in the future. TL;DR: pay the money, get the issues addressed quickly and as painlessly as possible now, dont need crowns/root canals/etc for another couple decades as long as I keep up on my dental check-ups and repairs.

I'm also right there with you, except I'm stashing away what money I can to be able to eventually afford to make the pain stop.

Until then there's just no chewing in my life

So yesterday I got my gaming laptop back. They have it running, but I've discovered that none of the lighting in the keyboard works now. It pisses me off because it's largely cosmetic, but this thing is only a few months old and shouldn't be having any issues.

Back to tech support.

Had to have blood drawn for my next post-op visit next week so they can check all my levels are where they need to be.

Now, I don't have a problem with needles, I've done this a lot before and I consider myself to be a fairly stoic individual.

But gee willikers, lady.... it took you 8 tries to find a vein >_< are you sure you're a phlebotomist?? I'm sure if you just keep stirring that thing around in there you'll shred enough tissue to get the blood you need, I suppose.

I had a nurse at the infusion clinic make a mess of starting things so badly that she blew a vein in my arm, couldn’t get one started in another spot in my arm and ended up having to go through my hand for the three hour treatment.

It’s still hit or miss if blood draws work in that vein now!?!

This one vile bitch was tearing at my arm with a needle, after the blood was flowing.

I said in a calm voice that could be heard throughout the office,

"YOU ARE HURTING ME."

I got a robocall yesterday where they said they heard that I or a loved one was suffering from alcohol or drug abuse.

"No, I quite enjoy it." -then hung up the phone.

Are you certain that the lighting isn't just turned off?

Yeah. One area of the keyboard was lit under WASD, but not the rest. No response to ROG Aura Core either. I just put it back in the mail. Glad I didn't save a big backlog of horror games to enjoy in October. :(
