Well THAT'S a concern, especially if the items she's deliberately skipping are the ones they don't plan to keep...

I halfway suspect I'll be told in the next few days that *I* am expected to do an inventory of all the computers in the building. Because obviously I don't have enough to do at the end of the month while still training a new underling.

The place we buy our dog food no longer carries our brand. I've checked a few other places and it seems nobody is carrying it any more. I sent an email to the people who make the food and yes, they are still making it. Why it's no longer available in my area nobody seems to know (or are at any liberty to say). So my choice today was to switch my dog's food or order it online and wait a few days.

So I guess I'm switching my dog's food. I hope she likes it.

Let's hope they just need an inventory of machines, and not have you also break them down by spec.

Which brand?

If you have to order online, and they carry it, I've been very happy with Chewy.com, and the orders generally get here in a couple of days.

That's what several of my pet-owning friends recommend, and the site I'm planning to use if/when I transition my cat to nicer foods/litters than what my Kroger carries, so sort of second-hand endorsement here.

I am married. I am, generally speaking, very happily married.

However, when I see on Facebook that a girl I used to have a crush on recently got married herself, I still can't help but go, "Hmm..." a bit.

Our basement has been slowly accumulating junk, and we missed the free clean up day 2 years in a row, so we finally rented a dumpster to clean shit out. Our neighbors probably think we're moving. :p

Hey, man. I saw your post on Facebook and thought that’s what may have happened. I’m sorry, dude.

Hmmm.... this unemployment. No sir, I do not like it.
It’s really very unsettling, isn’t it?

My advice is to work on getting back into the work place, but not stress about it. Spend as much of your free time as possible with your family and particularly your kids, go to the park, museums, etc. there are a lot of things you wished you could do with them before that you now can, but it’s really easy to let financial and job circumstances overshadow the opportunity you have right now.

You’ll be working again soon enough, I assure you, so remember to let go of the worry and anxiety long enough to really reconnect with the family.

A wonderful side effect is that the worry and anxiety should decrease somewhat, and the few hours per week when you are actively in pursuit of your next position you’ll be more effective and energized since you haven’t been thinking about it 24/7.

You’re a talented hard worker, you’ll be tiring your feet again soon enough.

...eeee I'm not sure about the anxiety going away. It takes a long time to deprogram yourself once you've been in a LEO/CO position.

It mystifies me how every single time on Imgur, when I make a comment about Toxoplasma gondii (usually on a picture of someone doing something unsanitary like letting a cat lick their food), it gets several upvotes, then suddenly DOWNVOTED TO OBLIVION. Like there's some cat-loving action squad waiting for the call to stomp out any mention of the connection between cats and T. gondii. They seem to refuse to believe that, despite numerous published and peer-reviewed studies, T. gondii is ubiquitous - one of the most common parasitic infections in the world. It's estimated that 33% of all humans are carriers, and not just in the 3rd world - 25% of Americans and 50% of Germans carry T. gondii. And yes, owning cats is a huge risk factor. If you've owned a cat, you're probably a carrier. Fortunately, the vast majority of T. gondii infections never progress beyond latent (asymptomatic) toxoplasmosis, although in recent years they've found the parasite does play a role in altering decision making - they make you like cats more, and decrease your reluctance to take risks.

There's a pretty good reason that pregnant women are extremely very discouraged from even touching a litter box while pregnant as well.

Could you link to the explanation on why cats are a huge risk factor? Wikipedia disagrees with you (and lists pork as the biggest risk to US-ians), but I don't give it much credence.

The german study found:
Gotcha, thanks. The more complete quote for the curious:
Factors positively associated with seropositivity included cat contact. 15.8% of the participants indicated keeping a cat in the household, which proved to be a risk factor for seropositivity by multivariable analysis (OR: 1.3; 95%-CI:1.1–1.5), whereas holding a dog or other companion animal had no impact. Being overweight (25 ≤ BMI <30) or obese (BMI ≥30) was also positively associated with seropositivity (OR of 1.2; 95%-CI:1.0–1.5; and OR: 1.3; 95%-CI:1.0–1.6, respectively). People living in rural areas had an increased risk of infection (OR: 1.41; 95%-CI:1.1–1.8) compared to inhabitants of bigger cities. Factors negatively associated with T. gondii infection were being vegetarian (OR: 0.6; 95%-CI:0.4–1.0) and having a high socio-economic status (OR: 0.7; 95%-CI:0.6–0.9). No association could be found with diabetes.

At least she had chicken.

You're not conflating toxoplasmosis with trichinosis, are you? They're two different parasites.
As for why cats are a risk factor, one of the vectors for T. gondii is cat feces, and cat owners handle cat feces on a regular basis (if you're a responsible cat owner, that is), so there's more exposure to the risk.

Is there something in the water??

I have SO MANY pregnant friends right now, it's insane. What is happening??

I guess it is that time in our lives where most start having kids, so I shouldn't be surprised, but still..all in unison? It's wild.
