Something for @bhamv3. This popped into my head as a possible practical test of foreign language comprehension skills. The student or potential job candidate is given a pencil and a baseball scorebook. A radio broadcast of a game in the target language is played on a speaker in the exam room. The subject is expected to fill out the lineups and keep score of the game from the broadcast play-by-play.

Of course, this assumes the subject knows how to score a baseball game in the first place.

And speaking as a radio guy (who used to be in charge of a sports radio station) LISTENING to a sport with no video is at least 10x worse than watching the same given sport.

Hey, @Dei. Have you seen these videos from NuSensei? Just happened across them in the wee hours of this morning...
I mean, I learned to shoot like that too. Well, except I shoot barebow right now, I don't use all the fancy gadgets. Someday I want to learn how.

Let's be honest, I'd be worried that I'd get sued afterward (assuming she survived) for sexual assault.

I wish that was a joke.
I feel like I'd blame it more on the overall prudishness of American society. It's not as bad as Japan, but people get hung up over a lot of things.

But lawsuit culture also affects how often anyone gets CPR, because people are afraid of messing up, or breaking ribs (which is to be expected).

I have literally never had spam and I feel like its too late to start now.
I had Spam for the first time just a few years ago, out of curiosity. I didn't expect to like it much. But now that I've had it, in multiple flavors, I'd say it's basically the ham equivalent of chicken nuggets. Meaning that it's texture is the biggest weakpoint. Other than that, and possibly being saltier, Spam tastes a lot like other hams made from whole cuts of meat.

So everyone agrees ( except @GasBandit that wealthy 1%er from oil rich Dallas) that spam is great! It's hobolicious!

Tonight was sliced fried spam sandwiches with cheese and spicy mustard. MMMMMMM good!
