Are you planning on sharing the scenario you create out of this via SteamWorkshop?
The Scenario file isn't anything special, it doesn't have the characters in it, just the rules of the game - and the rules of the game thus far is basically just the standard marooned start only with refugees, wanderers, and escape pods disabled.

The actual characters and equipment are saved in Prepare Carefully. I am not sure if there's a way to share that, but if there is, I'll share it at the conclusion of the story :p[DOUBLEPOST=1500996553,1500996521][/DOUBLEPOST]
Such as, sitting naked at the pottery wheel? I'm not sure I want to know.

Also, Kags, I'm kinda surprised you chose to be passionate about intellectual work instead of crafting. You like filling out tax returns more than you like sewing? Like... costumes?

In fact, I should point out to everybody that being interested in "intellectual" does not mean "I am smart." It means "I like sitting at a desk all day shuffling papers, auditing inventory and doing math. Spreadsheets are fun and I have strong opinions about MLA vs APA."

If you like sewing, or tinkering with electronics, that's *crafting.*

If you like writing/reading, that's *artistic.*

Ah, so, the opposite of Halforums Academy.

I think I put one or two points in Int, but then again, I was a secretary for years, so I guess it's in my wheelhouse.

One or two points means "I've heard of this but I am completely awful at it." If you've actually held down a secretarial job, I'd have put your intellectual skill at at least 6. Humanities professors would be 13ish. Theoretical Physicists would be 20.

But I'm more talking about interest points, not skill, in my above quote.[DOUBLEPOST=1501033713,1501033498][/DOUBLEPOST]Of course, it is fair to say you might not have had the skill for deskwork at 18 that you did later :p

I'm just hoping to not be killed by the people I've called for help because I've lost my mind in the kitchen or infirmary. Again.

Heh, well, that had nothing to do with your stats. You'd just seen everyone you knew, worked with, lived with, loved, all slaughtered and eaten by giant multilegged chitinous horrors.

That'd put anybody on edge.

Oh, and I also think I should point out that, if you later change your mind on your hair style/color, there is a mechanism in-game to change them, and it is not a problem.

Additionally, clothes wear out and are replaced by other clothes we will make ourselves, and the new clothes will have their own default colors, and your pawns (that's the term for the characters in this game) will decide for themselves what they want to wear, within certain policy limitations. So, when your synthread clothes get down to about 60% integrity, your pawn will probably go looking for something else to wear. It might be leather or wool, or in Ravenpoe's case, clothing made from human skin . Chances are I won't remember what your starting colors were, so within a few months you'll probably be wearing something different. But if you see yourself in an update wearing something you'd rather be another color (or another piece of clothing entirely), you will be able to let me know and I'll be able to change it.

I'll be adding one more mod to the list, and that is Misc. Core.

This is so I'll be able to assign "battle stations" to specific groups of people and send them there ready to fight with a keypress, instead of having to hunt through 50 colonists trying to remember who has guns and who has knives every time there's a raid.

The vanilla game doesn't support hotkeyed selection groups, unlike most RTS games out there, but because most people don't ever get more than 10 or 15 colonists, it wasn't as big a deal. Now that we have 43 with more on the way... yeah, I want to be able to do that :p

Then drop my int to 4 and bump artistic to 5, please.

You sure I shouldn't bump your int to 7? How many times have I read stories about you and your old job's accounting? :p

Joking aside, remember the difference between skill and interest. Your interest point is on intellect. Moving skill points from one to the other just alters proficiency, not interest. Are you better at artistic endeavors, but still uninterested in them? Because that's what you're telling me to do.
