Also IBC root beer was just flagged at the cash register as something I needed to show ID for. What the fuck is happening.
Hard root beers are a fad right now (and alcoholic versions of other sodas as well), that's what's happening.

Sure, but I was very clearly not buying hard root beer.
how does one "very clearly" not do anything? Especially when it's just buying a thing.

Kind of related story...I had a cashier at CVS try to ring up a bag of Kale tortilla chips a while ago. He tried 3 times. I asked if it was an invalid UPC code. He said "No, it's coming up as recalled."

...ok, so you tried two additional times to try to sell me poison?

When the UPC is for pop and not alcohol, I don't know how it can be much clearer.

Hell, I got carded for spray paint yesterday. :p[DOUBLEPOST=1461118562,1461118441][/DOUBLEPOST]GOD DAMN IT.

I was going to go to Boulder tomorrow to stop at JoAnn's to work on my daughter's cosplay.

Then I remembered tomorrow is the annual stay the FUCK out of Boulder (also Denver) day.

Well, shit.

Guess you'll be driving to Loveland?

Mad Libs: Funeral edition!

I'm working on my 3rd funeral in the span on a little over a week, so, ya.
Meh.

(I usually have a funeral every 6-8 weeks, so this is unusual.)

I'm dealing with some serious sinus stuff this morning, I wasn't prepared for this. Is this a real name? What is happening?

*snip*
It's a fairly unique name. Googling "Xylex R" returns this person's LinkedIn in the first page. Fairly sure it's them, due to matching company name and department.

Perhaps one of their parents had a lab accident and would've gone blind had they not been wearing their Xylex safety glasses?

I haven't mentioned it here yet but my parents left and moved to Sweden two month ago. Since I lived nearby they asked me to go and see if everything is OK with their old house here in Germany now and then.

So this morning my parents old house burned down. Thankfully nobody was hurt but it's still a little weird to see the ruins.
Even weirder, I wanted to go there yesterday but decided to go the next day instead. Good thing I didn't go.

The windmill is (was) part of the building

Just getting caught up on this thread (been a weird week).

Man, that sucks. Do they know WHY it caught on fire? And do they still own it or just wanted to know because it has a place in their hearts?[DOUBLEPOST=1461167632,1461167550][/DOUBLEPOST]
I got IDed for a video game once at a self checkout. It was pretty funny when the lady came over because 18 was quite some time ago.
Me, too.

Cell phones are such creepers. Today I got an alert about sales at JoAnn's as soon as my car got within 500 ft of it.

Is it wrong to go to a job interview for a job you're about 98% sure you plan on turning down, anyway? Because I'm in that position right now.

I was offered a job (someone saw my resume on online) and offered an interview. I accepted. However, looking more into the job and the potential job, it sounds like a door-to-door or possibly cold-calling, commission based sales job. Which, I mean, ick.

You must have some kind of funky app, or something... all I ever get notifications about is traffic delays to/from work/home.

Eh, if it's really for one of those, ick, but since their job is wasting time, you might as well waste theirs :p
If it's not too much of a hassle to get there and back, it can be useful as interviewing experience, at least.

No, do it for experience. Do it for the self-esteem boost. Do it because you're bored. Who knows, when you get there and talk to them it might be completely different. Or you can tell them the job isn't something you're looking for, but ask them to keep you in mind for other openings.

Or you could just show up naked and screw with them.
