Whine like a baby, now with 500% more drama!

My car has been stuck in insurance limbo for a week and a half, because someone else's insurance company will happily approve paying for a rental for for an indeterminate amount of time, but they can't approve $100 in extra expenses when everyone knew they were probably coming once the body shop got the bumper off. I am so very sick of driving my husband's car. (He got the rental because the body shop is closer to his work, so it makes more sense for him to swap cars when the work is done.)
Just heard today that the insurance adjuster still hasn't even looked at the adjusted claim, and won't get to it until at least tomorrow. I'd be angrier if I wasn't laughing at how much more they have spent on a rental car because they don't have their shit together. Glad they aren't my insurance company.

What @fade's not telling us is that he took the easy route.
Meh. That was a poor wording of the joke. I can't figure out how to make that double entendre pop.
"I had to approach it from several different directions, but I finally got it through to her, and we reached an understanding."

I read a scary story about spinal fractures and ordered a medic alert bracelet. I feel 80 :(

I'm also looking at an at least two year waiting list for the pain clinic....

Well... I can honestly say that was a bit more risque than I expected from a religiously affiliated university.

I'm having my final oral exam tomorrow. I am so freaking nervous.
If I pass this I will have an awsome job waiting for me. If not, another Year of apprenticeship.

Brechen Sie ein Bein!

(I don't know if they actually use that expression in German? We do in Dutch and it exists in English, so....)
Pretty sure they do but the grammar is slightly different... Brechen Sie sich ein Bein. I guess they feel the need to clarify that you should not go around breaking other people's legs.

Having two intelligent children can be kind of trying when neither one of them can adequately describe what they are thinking because their brains race faster than they can get the words out. This sounds like a weird complaint, but the way they both restart their sentences over and over and OVER trying to get their thought out can try my patience.

As an aside, my daughter has had a month to do a book report and a visual display to go with it. She had ambitious plans when she got the assignment, but has she done one iota of it? Nope! She has a 4 day weekend then her project is due. I already know what we will be doing for it. -_-

Scolding her for not starting sooner? :D

Is there anyone here who never started reading a book for a book report the night before?
She read the book already. She knows all about it. They were supposed to pick a book they've already read to give them one less thing to worry about even! At least one of her friends already talked about finishing already, so my daughter now feels bad about herself. :p

I don't think there's a single project throughout all of elementary school, highschool, or college that I didn't put off until the very last minute.

And the people here that have tried to get me to play a game while I'm busy writing an article for my side projects know that trend continues today!

I usually started off guesstimating how much time I'd need to read it and how much time I'd need to write the report, then I'd start reading it way early because I liked reading, and started writing the report just a little too late by my own calculations, so that I was pushing myself/rushed. Usually worked out OK, though the occasions where my dad meddled and wanted to proof-read and all that it all went tits up because my and his idea of planning didn't quite gel :p
Doesn't mean I can't think that technically, working ahead of time isn't a better idea :p

How many times do you revise a post before hitting "Post?"

But that's different, because I don't have to watch someone formulate their thoughts before they post, I only see the finished product. ;)

Letting her fail hard to teach her a lesson about planning ahead?

(no, I know it doesn't work that way)
...yeah, it does in my house for the most part. At least with Noah since he's old enough to get it. He's usually pretty good about it once we help him break the big project into smaller pieces. Lily's still only 6 years old, so time management is a little out of her grasp yet. She does understand there are consequences to not doing her homework, though.

Ah, damn it, there was a power outage and it looks like my keyboard got fried... At least I had a spare lying around, but now I'm gonna have to eventually go out... For non-girlfriend-related reasons... :(

Tweaked my back yesterday, and it ready doesn't feel any better today, so huzzah for a second day of any moving around I need to do being met with pain and me hissing through my teeth.

Ooh shit, that sucks. Hate when that happens.
