[Drawing] Gusto's Drawings and Paintings

Working on it. This weekend coming up is the first one I've had free in like 2 months.
Haha I promise I'm kidding. I am nothing if not patient. Also, I have kidnapped your family and if you do not produce within 48 hours I SHALL SELL THEM TO SOME VERY UNPLEASANT PEOPLE. You know who I mean. People who squeeze the toothpaste tube from the middle, and never clean the soap scum from the dish, even when they're putting in a new bar of soap, which is basically the ideal transitory time. People who begin sentences with "I'm not racist, but..." and wear crocs. VERY UNPLEASANT.

MY URGES TO PRODUCE ART

HAVE SELDOM BEEN

THIS POWERFUL

I need to save up as much as I can for this, my perhaps most ambitious painting.

I have some more progress I've made on the background for this painting, but I'm afraid to post the results.

Doing wash after wash after wash has made some parts look really grimy, and even though I'll soon be covering them with ANOTHER wash and the grimy looking parts will be covered by the opaque foreground, the in-progress piece right now looks kinda shitty as a result.[DOUBLEPOST=1375370039][/DOUBLEPOST]
How do you feel about the "I intentionally paintined the upside down in order to create upward-streaking drips" that I've included in the base coats?
It's gonna look grreat though, IMO, I should make that clear. Just one of those in-between stages that doesn't look so hot.

I don't know how I missed this. I think it's cool! To be honest I have such a dreadful artistic eye, I might have not noticed it, and I'd definitely never have known that's how you made the effect, so having insight into your tricks is neat :D

I am so excited. So

I thought you were jsut trying to avoid saying something rude!

Oh I am sorry if I gave that impression! Not at all. I am excited like I can't even say and I think that looks great!
Glad to hear it. I think this'll be a good one. I'm hoping for better weather so I can paint the foreground out in the sunshine on the deck.

I'm really looking forward to doing the foreground. The execution might be critical but it should be dont in one or two sessions, very quick and fun.

Now, the first stage of flats. Under a variety of lighting conditions and a few camera angles.

First is in direct sunlight, washed out by my camera.

Second is in my bedroom with very low natural light, lights off, camera flash.

This is the most accurate to how the colours looks in life, taken in the basement again but with the artificial light on.
