Which means somebody would have had to have come into my office and shaken the shit out of it while I was at lunch today.

Underling 1 says she didn't see anybody go in my office. But that could just mean she's in on it...

:fu:
hehehehehe

My job and prostitutes/porn stars are probably the only professions that can come home complaining of being covered in nut dust.

Even then, no matter how much you shake a soda, it only takes a half-minute or so for it to calm back down to where you can open it.
I don't know what soda you drink, but I've had cans and bottels go off like a rocket days after being shaken. Once opened, yeah, it settles back down quickly. While pressurized it lasts longer.

Which is also something prostitutes/porn stars can say.

Just learned yesterday that the office will be closed both 7/3 AND 7/4 in observance of the 4th. Well. It'll be nice to have a 4 day weekend, I suppose, but that just means the work for those holidays has to be done before the weekend. Next week's gonna be... eggh. >_<

Might even cut into your Rimworld time.

Last Saturday ever at this place. Wedding party dudebros hanging out in the bar in vests with no shirts.

Current status: Waiting outside my building with Diomedes in his carrier because the fire alarm went off a few minutes ago.[DOUBLEPOST=1498464536,1498464265][/DOUBLEPOST]

And back in. False alaem, according to the super.

And I'm going back to bed.

Won't. Apparently even the end of this week wasn't soon enough. :(

On the brighter side, my suggestion that they need to look after the old building after they close is being taken seriously. All I really need is pay and internet. :D

And a typewriter, lots of paper, a Big Wheels.

I've already been going in with a pocketful of fountain pens to play with every night. :)

On the other bright side, if I do wind up having to go on the job hunt, at least I'll be operating on the regular time zone for the first time in years.

I fell asleep sitting up again which is just about the worst thing I can do. I wake up feeling like I've been dragged behind a bus.

Chocolate chip waffles, strawberries and whipped cream will fix this.

And medication.

• thunderstorms fry internet router/modem (plus laptop charger which was weird. Both plugged into power strip with what I thought had surge protector)
• buy a new one
•still no internet
• internet company comes out and fixes it
• that day go to spend the week at the girlfriend's house
• next day internet goes out
• tower isn't sending a signal
• country internet so who knows when they'll send someone out

I'm running out of old DVDs to watch. Early 2000s Phil didn't have the best taste either.

I really, really hate incompetent IT departments. My wife's employer has had an IT/support department that has commonly been referred to as the "helpless desk" for the past 12 years, and they get worse every year. In fact, their in-house staff got so bad, that last year they outsourced their IT to Manila. Today (like many, many, many other days), her internet won't connect - but only to her employer's sites and services. Every site she could want to go to except her company's work just fine. Now, this is a fairly common occurrence, and usually she just has to call IT, wait 3 or 4 hours to get someone that speaks English (no, I don't mean unaccented English, or easy to understand English, I mean English), and then reboot her computer a bunch of times while they try to apply patches and hotfixes to it remotely. Today, however, she got a real genius. While remotely supporting the computer, the tech uninstalled the network adapter. The tech then called my wife and asked her why she disconnected from the remote session.

Oh, and I should probably mention that this happens once a month. Every month. During month end. When my wife's job is on the line the most.

This week has been as aggravating as I thought it would be. Getting commercials out of agencies this week has been like pulling teeth. SO ready for the weekend. :fu:

Unless it was absolutely something that only tech support could fix, like permissions that no one in the building understood, I would avoid calling them at all costs. No matter the question or any steps I took to troubleshoot on my end, they would insist on logging in remotely. Even for the simplest yes or no questions they would want to log in. Or for situations that required an inactivity timeout to trigger. Useless.

I have to stay awake for another 90 minutes until a volunteer person stops by for something.

I did my treatment yesterday that makes me feel all gross and exhausted.

This is going to be a long hour and a half.

I made it!! Then she arrived and Pud mauled the poor lady and rubbed his face all over her like he had never been loved in his whole life. It was starting to get weird.

And now I can't sleep lol!!! So I'm OCD-breeding some more Pokemon. Thank god for the Pokemon bank!

Failing to allocate +1 for the null terminator in C strings is a super common bug, but also really hard to track down. What a waste of time.

I decided to convert my circular saw into a table saw because I needed reliable, repeatable cuts for my latest project. It works great! The only problem is now I want an actual, quality table saw :(

Dang, a quality one will set you back a grand or 3.

I cry myself to sleep clutching a Rockler catalog :p
Yeah, every time I see a DIY post/video, and the dude has Festool gear. I'm like, "Must be nice, rich boy."

I don't think you need a super-fancy table saw to get the job done. It takes work to get it squared, but it's not that bad. I have mostly cheap harborfreight stuff that works just fine. If I somehow start making money from my hobby then I'll upgrade.

But, I always drool over the quality merch. I don't know if you know who Roy Underhill is, but his school and tool shop is only 20 minutes from where I live. I've eyeballed everything in that shop a dozen times, but I can't bring myself to shell out the dough for an 18th century dovetail saw.
