If you haven't watched ManyATrueNerd's Fallout "You Only Live Once" videos, they're a lot of fun. Playing with the self-imposed rule set of not healing anything (on the highest difficulty with some survival mode options on). Any damage is permanent, along with crippled limbs, radiation, and addictions. It makes for some interesting strategy for getting through the games, and adds quite a bit of tension. His Fallout 4 run has just started, and he's already done FO3 and New Vegas.

Valve is making it easier to get into beta testing games on Steam

And, no, this isn't an old article about how Early Access is paying to beta test a game. This is a chance to sign up to beta test a game for free. There will be limited slots available, but developers who want to will be able to put a link to "Request Access" on the game's Steam page, and all players will have to do is click the link to get access, or be put on a waiting list if all slots are already full. The beta access will only be for a limited time, but it seems like a potentially fun opportunity.

Sam & Max: Save the World Remastered is coming this December

While I wouldn't say they're the best point-and-click adventure games, the Telltale Sam & Max games are a lot of fun. Plus, owners of the previous version like myself get 50% off the remastered edition. I'll definitely be taking advantage of that. Looks like they're intending to remaster the second and third seasons, too. Awesome!

And the trailer:
For those wondering how the 50%-off is going to work for people who bought theirs from Telltale:

Ubisoft Montreal staffers barricade on roof amid possible hostage situation

"A potential hostage situation is reportedly taking place at the building in which game developer Ubisoft's Montreal office is housed.

"A group of suspects are reportedly holding tens of people hostage at Ubisoft Montreal, according to local (French-language) media outlet LCN. The situation reportedly began around 1:30pm Eastern Time.

...

"Live-streamed footage from an LCN helicopter showed a group of people together on the roof deck of the building behind a makeshift barricade seemingly constructed of folding tables leaning against the access door. Developer Eric Pope confirmed in a Tweet that the individuals on the roof were indeed Ubisoft employees, saying, 'This is insane. This is my team on the roof.'"

Turns out it was just trolling: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/montreal-police-ubisoft-1.5801236

Is it weird that i find it strangely comforting that we're back to disruptive internet dumbassery after all the real shit that's been going on the last few years/decades?

Looks like Sony screwed up. Customers who ordered the digital version got packaging labeled digital version with the right picture but got the disc version instead.

Looks interesting, and you're right that this is almost certainly the ideal developer for this type of game, but I was put off by Hitman 2016's weird episodic release. I still haven't played Hitman 2016 or its sequel because I'm not sure which version I'm supposed to be getting. I hope IO never do anything like that again.

I could be wrong, but I think the episodic gimmick was forced upon them by Warner Bros.

Man, what a weird game news day. People are mad that porn studio/porn-game studio FOW decided to show off their game with a literal, actual racist piece of fake accented shit Arch (formerly Archwarhammer until Game Workshop threatened him because they wanted no connection to his insane racist ass). The excuse "We just wanna make tiddy games and not politics" is of course what they're going for.

My excitement for Cyberpunk has really soured after it was reported they admitted to still imposing crunch on their employees. Plus, I was reminded of some of their transphobic behaviour not that long ago. I actually removed the game from my wishlist.

Fellas, that Cyberpunk game is sounding like it's only just pretty good with intense technical issues so wait fer patches etc. WHO COULD HAVE GUESSED?
And it needs to have a seizure warning, too, because it has sequences that appear to have been modeled after lights used to induce seizures.

Well, I learned the biggest reason I won't ever be buying Cyberpunk 2077. The game blocks all virtualized inputs, meaning Steam Input is mostly broken. Anyone wanting to use a Steam Controller, or use gyro-aim for a number of other controllers, is out of luck. I know some even more niche devices, like the Razer Nostromo use virtualized inputs, but I'm not sure how many accessibility controls for disabled gamers do. This also blocks controls when using some game streaming programs like Steam Remote Play, Parsec, and others. It's a baffling restriction for a single-player game (though speculation says it's to ensure that Stadia is the only way to stream the game).

I wasn’t sure where to put this.

Monster Hunter Rise will be released on March 26, 2021. A demo will be available next month.

The game will have seamless transitions between zones in the same map like World.

The pre-order bonus includes super cute skins for your Palico and Palamute (MH dogs) and is available with all versions even if you don’t want to buy fancy layered armour.

The game will tie in with Monster Hunter Stories 2 which comes out in Summer 2021!
