[TV] The What Animation Are You Watching Thread 2!: The Sequel!

I never really had any interest in that series before.

But now I'll be throwing it on my plex server and seeding the torrent FUH REV UR

Because fuck companies that lock away content in the name of tax write-offs.

/pours one out for Megas XLR
Awesome. I expected no less. :)

But remember kids, breaking copyright is evil...
Final Space kinda feels like it had no right to be as amazing as it was. A scifi comedy about a dim witted protagonist in space has been done so many times already.
Yet the series was hilarious, emotional, and even occasionally terrifying. By season 3 I was fully invested in the characters even as the series got darker and more bleak for them.
While all of the characters are wonderful, Gary is by far the best character. Simple minded but a heart of gold and optimism to the extreme.

I was hoping Takei was playing Iroh (we've already had one Iroh die on the job) when I heard it announced, but I guess that's a huge long term role for someone his age. A voice-over cameo works much better.

It has to be a older asian actor who can play the role of the wise and sometimes goofy father figure who has also some moves to show without looking silly.

Previously announced cast members include Gordon Cormier (Aang), Kiawentiio (Katara), Ian Ousley (Sokka), Dallas Liu (Zuko), Elizabeth Yu (Azula), Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (Iroh), Daniel Dae Kim (Fire Lord Ozai), Maria Zhang (Suki), Tamlyn Tomita (Yukari), Yvonne Chapman (Avatar Kyoshi) and Casey Camp-Horinek (Gran Gran).

Oh for sure, but they'll probably go with someone in their 50s-60s rather than 80s-90s.

So far the casting is pretty incredible honestly.

Crack casting for Iroh? James Hong, who is EVEN OLDER than George Takei.
Legit Choice? Benedict Wong, even if he's fucking everywhere now.

They should cast James Hong in everything.

I would also mention, as per @evilmike 's post, Arden Cho is well-known from Teen Wolf, and Utkarsh Ambudkar is great on Never Have I Ever.

Arcane, aka the Netflix League of Legends show

I had watched the first couple episodes of this, thought it was surprisingly good, and then left it for awhile.

Yesterday I decided to watch episode 3, and got sucked in to marathoning the whole thing in one sitting.

Where does this show get off thinking it's allowed to be this fucking good?

I also stopped in the middle and left it for a while, and upon finishing it regretted not binging it.

I've tried to convince a few people to watch it based on merit alone but they're obstinately stubborn about it because "how good could a video game show be?"

I dunno, if you need to have mainstream appeal, it did win a fucking Emmy. But, yeah, I guess I only think it's good because I still play right.

On the flip side, I get it, people telling me to watch a show almost always get put to the back of my ever-extending backlog unless it was already on my radar.

You wanna know how I've convinced people to watch it?

"Each episode is just over 30 minutes, and there's only 9 of them"

I can tell you what animation I won't be watching! Amazon Prime is developing a "Sausage Party" series.

FUCK YOU Jeff Bezos! The Tick gets cancelled, but you make a series out of that garbage? What the ever loving fuck?
Oh lord. Just what we need. Half hour episodes of food porn.
