[Movies] The Upcoming Movies Trailer Thread

Yeah . . . No. Just No. You don't take a "3 days old from the fridge bag of Taco Bell tacos and a 12 pack of Natty Light" explosive shit on Luke and really expect me to think you're course correcting from 'subverting expectations'. Nope. George should have held out for SOME story control. *sigh*

Rogue Story was nice.

I thought Luke was fantastic in TLJ

I can't stand JJ or his whole cadre of terrible, talentless hacks that have taken over so many things I cared about. His Star Wars sucks. His movies are nonsensical garbage and you can't make me give a shit about how much he's going to walk back TLJ just cause.

Disney needed a Kevin Feige or GASP a George Lucas to at least steer their Star Wars in a coherent fucking direction. *SOMEONE WHO ISN'T ROBERTO ORCI OR ALEX KURTZMAN ANYWAY

Explain please. My understanding is that JJ did fine on 7, then Rian came in and fucked everything up royally in 8. I might not agree with all (or many) of the decisions in 7, but it was fine, entertaining, etc IMO. It was 8 that was the facepalm after facepalm of terrible decisions.

So how is 8 JJ's fault? I don't get that. I'm willing to be educated here though.

I hated Episode 7. It was nonsensical garbage that no one could have followed up on, probably why even JJ himself didn't want to return until he changed his mind apparently. It was all spectacle with no substance. How do you follow up on it?

The first season of Titans was one of the best portrayals of Dick Grayson, ever, and I'm really excited for season two. The whole cast is fantastic, the writing is excellent, and I think it did a good job of striking the right balance between gritty realism and the hope that comic book heroes are supposed to provide.

I thought 7 was ok as a fan movie but didn't carry a lot of substance. It wasn't bad, but it was incredibly safe, and while I enjoyed it, it wasn't something I would ever revisit like the originals or even the prequels.

8 I thought was daring and fantastic (casino plot aside) and was actually forging Star Wars into new territory, which made me incredibly excited. But then there was a neckbeard backlash and an anti-sjw backlash and now I'm convinced that everything new introduced in 8 will be undone in 9.

This is more my line too? 7 was by the numbers, but 8 did some interesting stuff... it didn't all work (the casino planet stuff wasn't developed enough) but I liked it more than 7.

Rogue One was the real winner though.

I fell asleep during Rogue One and I still haven't managed to watch it all the way through because the pacing sucks.
