Everyone I know has a favorite "plate lunch" place. If you've never had a plate lunch, it's basically sweaty, braised meat struggling to remain fresh inside a styrofoam clamshell nestled up next to canned vegetables and a slice of Wonderbread. Everyone down here also has at least 5 relatives who braise delicious things weekly, probably much better. How do these shitholes stay open?

I'll buy one for a fundraiser, but that's it.

New bike! The pedaling kind, to be clear. And I never bike for long distances...but 2 miles to the train station and back was enough to really start hurting my back lately. Let's hope this is better. Smoother, certainly.

While browsing my old Reddit posts, I came across something I'd written four years ago and then completely forgotten about. It's the setup for a porn scene in the West Wing universe. And because I'd forgotten I'd ever written this, reading it again felt like I was reading something written by someone who's completely in sync with my literary preferences, you know? It felt good to read.

It's sort of like how it feels to find money in the pocket of a pair of pants you haven't worn for a long time.

Another week, another agricultural supply company with my voice on their ad. I seem to get all the farmers and ranchers.

I'm laughing so hard in light of the other thread.
"Are you tired of the rising costs of fertilizers? GasBandit Inc. can help you with a cheap and local supply!"

Oh no...it makes it worse when you start talking about your micro-package.

At bakery in supermarket looking at cakes. Hear voice say "Would you like a cookie?"

I say "Yes! I would!" and look around.

It was a very surprised mother talking to her baby.....

So APPARENTLY I'm WAY closer to affording a room in Philly than I thought I was( turns out googling "apartment for rent" is a different search than "Room for rent"). Either way I plan on saving up until September, and finally moving out of my parents place!

Yeah there’s a phone clip been goin’ ‘round on reddit where people have been trying to extrapolate the size/distance based on the shockwave/sound arrival, etc.

Tomorrow is elections day. I hope the current maYor gets reelected. I have two reasons. First, this is the first time that I feel that mayor really cares about the city and doing a good work, second, changing administrations are always a nightmare.

Had a good work day today, but it was a LITTLE annoying that the first Chipotle I went to today had a broken grill. Still open though, presumably to tell customers and the other deliveryfolk that they'd have to call their customers to cancel the order so they still get payed a dollar eighty-six.

Saw them in concert last night. Kevin remembered me from the facebook chat. :D He came up and struck up a short conversation during the break between sets, but my wife missed it, so we posed for photos after the show.

I am so glad that you posted this, as I hadn't realized they were touring and just managed to squeak in to see them - they're absolutely phenomenal live! And how cool that you got to "talk shop" with Kevin - he's such a friendly guy (and insanely talented, of course)!

Well, he won. 44.08% of the votes; 29% more than the next candidate. He is the first re-elected mayor of Portoviejo.
