I don't know if this was common knowledge, but the petition was started by none other than famous wingnut Alex Jones. Who then went on an interview with Piers Morgan and....well just watch for yourself (video is in the link, title says a lot)

It was stupid of the NRA or anyone from the right to allow themselves to be associated with this guy. He pretty much played straight into Piers's devious British plans.

Jones would earn more supporters if he didn't come across as a loud, brash, obnoxious who keeps ignoring questions and speaking over someone trying to talk calmly to them. Rather than presenting a calm, informative debate, he only further typified the American stereotype.

I know. But when you string together the words "gun", "Texas" and "radio"...it's just so easy to link them together. I don't think that guy would be on here long if he did sign up. He's forty-nine shades of crazy.
