I don't keep a detailed food diary (I just add the calories/carbs of whatever I eat to my phone's notes, then tally whenever at a computer), but here's an approximate reconstruction of a few recent days where I didn't overeat (drinking or meals with friends) or undereat (I skip lunch or dinner if not hungry):

    1 (1480/14):
    • a piece of baking chocolate (guilty pleasure of mine) 90/1
    • 3-egg omelette with 1 tbsp butter, cheese, spices 410/5
    • snack bar and protein shake 280/3
    • pan-fried pork patties with cheese, spices 700/5
    2 (1360/18):
    • String cheese 80/1
    • Bowl of pretend-yogurt from Kroger (way less sugar than normal), garnished with a bunch of crushed walnut 480/9
    • Chicken quarter with a side of mashed cauliflower, buffalo sauce 800/8
    3 (1650/20):
    • Several pieces of baking chocolate (what did I say?) 180/2
    • Sausage with cheese, a few spoonfuls of peanut dust+water butter 530/10
    • Slow-cooked chicken breast with butter, slivered shallot/carrot 570/4
    • Leftover burger patty 370/4
So, usually something small for breakfast, followed by a lunch (size depending on hunger), sometimes an afternoon/evening snack, and dinner. I have a lot of water/lemonade during the day, which helps a ton with satiation.

SO many things influence weight. Don’t forget to keep track of inches, as well.
More evidence that is unflattering to the lap band, it seems. Won’t be surprised if it falls out of favor.

198.6 pounds today. I have not weighed this little since I encountered and vanquished the freshman 15. Still got a ways to go, but it was amazing to see. When I started 5 months ago I weighed 246.

So. I've been to the dietician. I've been to the shrink, got my lab work done, and had my psych eval done (you will all be happy to know I am not insane... on paper). And today I met with the surgeon. We went over everything. I told him I wanted to shoot for early January for the surgery. He told me to lose 20 pounds before then, so he can be sure to get my damn liver out of the way before he hacks off most of my stomach pouch.

So I've gotta lose 20 pounds in 4 weeks.

♫Hello liquid diet, my old friend♫
♫I've stopped eating solid foods again♫

It probably won't be as hard as it sounds, I started on the dietician's pre-surgery diet on the 20th, and even with cheating on thanksgiving - a LOT - I've lost 8 pounds in 9 days. Granted, a lot of that is probably water weight, but I think I can do this.

Oh and it turns out I've got a massive vitamin D deficiency (despite me taking multivitamins that crow about how much D3 they've got) so I'll be taking 10,000 UI/day of vitamin D every day for the next 2 months.

I'm kinda surprised myself. I expected it immediately. But I guess it WAS the lowest of low hanging fruit :p

I mean, it was literally my first thought when the doctor said "You've got a really bad Vitamin D deficiency." I thought "Oh god, the forum's gonna tell me I need the D."

Oh also, I believe the way most multivitamins are made make it impossible for your body to actually absorb most of the vitamins in the pills. Hence the deficiency to begin with.

Though I'm pretty sure you can get vitamin D from the sunlight. Does your job of IT troll not have you going outside much?

    1) Turns out there's only 1000 UI of D in my multivitamin. Which is a paltry amount for how prominently they brag on the label.
    2) I get almost no sun. I don't even have a window in here, the place is built like a fallout shelter. I practically never leave work while the sun is still out.
    3) I am FATTY FATTY FAT FAT FATTY BOOMBALATTY and fat apparently pulls D out of your bloodstream like a magnet.

I read up on it a little bit more, and I also think my doctor exaggerated as to how severe my deficiency is. Apparently 20 ng/ml is normal, and 12 ng/ml is considered a deficiency... and I have 12. So, I guess I'm out of the gray area on that but still it's not like this other person I talked to who had 8.

No, we’re going to tell you that you need more son.
Best get thee to a Stienery!

Seriously, though, your body will make all you need FOR FREE, all you have to do is go outside for a while. This might also have the side effect of increasing your activity level...*

Going out in the sun is not a cure all for vitamin D deficiency. My dad had one, and his job is working outside all day.

I know there’s precursors you need as well, but don’t know what they are.
And yes, D is fat-soluble, so you shouldn’t take it at the same time as water-soluble vitamins.

There’s a whole list of things you shouldn’t take with other things. It’s ridiculous.

Between Thanksgiving, leftovers, and a very persistent cold/virus/??? (which is making me ravenous), I took a big dump on my graph, regaining 2.5lb instead of losing them (so 4-5lb off trend). Today was goal/end day, and I weighed in at 174.0 lb. Probably would've been 16_ lb, if not for my poor self-control. Ah well, still below my safety goal. Last day I'll worry about scales for the year is Dec 9th, since that's the day of my flight (all weigh-ins are at the same scale for consistency, and I'm not packing it with me...).
