[Gaming] Diablo 3 : Ser Farm-A-Lot

You're right, that gem makes a HUGE difference.

Welp, that's that, then. Looks like I didn't actually finish the journey last time, huh. Though I did. Oh well.

I didn't look for you, but what with your other postings, I didn't really expect to see you, either.
Hope things get better.
Now it's off to Overwatch to get that Ashe skin while I still can.

Nope, haven't been able to get on line all evening and probably won't, at that (on a pc, that is - can't play Diablo on my phone :( :p )

Considering what class I'll be playing next season, if any.
Neither Arachyr nor Trag'oul is really my jam, maybe I should stay with Barb for another round.
On the other hand, the Mundunugu set is...maybe not my thing but something I definitely want to try. Though the Ninety Savages set also seems cool.
Just a bit booohhh that you don't get the new set as Haedrig's gift, though it makes perfect sense.

...I have been waiting for a Frenzy-based build for SO LONG.

I’m still weeping that Demon Hunter didn’t get a new set. :( I’ve been waitinggggg.

I think I’ll do a Necro again, maybe try a corpse lance build instead of skeletal mage build.

I'm more weeping because I don't know where I'm going to put all these new sets in my stash!

Just so you have an idea, I threw together a Frenzy build over at d3planner.com, and that shows over 2 billion toughness and just under 800 billion DPS. I didn't spend the time to give every item all their optimum stats, so both of those numbers are guaranteed to go higher. Possibly much higher.

Since they decided to release the patch more than a week before the new season, and I won't be playing at all for the first week of the season, I decided to just use some of those ridiculous amounts of non-seasonal crafting mats I have (I normal never play non-seasonal, so it all just builds up - i'm sure dedicated players would laugh, but thousands of DBs and so on trivialize a bunch of stuff). I made a complete Savages set on my barb and threw together some semi-fitting stuff ( see current build here). I have a strong feeling the chances of getting the new stuff are currently artificially high - I didn't have to upgrade any piece of equipment more than 10 times to get the whole set, except for the chest armor.
Anyway, I clearly don't have the right gems leveled (simplicity's strength is a no-brainer, not quite sure about the other two...Bane of the Trapped, possibly, or Iceblink..Maybe Mirianae just for the movement speed? maybe Swiftness?). Yeah, it's pretty fun, though item dependent. You'll definitely want/need the Undisputed Champion, Bastion's Revered and Oathbreaker, and Echoing Fury. Depth Diggers are also a good fit.
All in all, fun to play so far, but I'm lacking movement speed compared to some other builds. You have to do a lot of manual clicking to hit stuff, so movement needs to be fast. Also, you're very dependent on keeping your Frenzy stacks up so between fights it's easy to get very vulnerable. Getting to another group of enemies FAST is important for this.
I'm sure there'll be better builds soon enough.

My build was Oathbreaker + Coven's Criterion.
Savages set + Vambraces of Sescheron + The Undisputed Champion
Jewelry = Justice Lantern + Band of Might + Hellfire Amulet
Cube = Bastion's Revered + Blood Brother + Depth Diggers
Gems = Simplicity's Strength + Bane of the Stricken + Gogok of Swiftness
Passives = Rampage + Inspiring Presence + Superstition + Relentless + Juggernaut (4 + 1 on amulet)
Active1 = Frenzy (x) + Furious Charge (Merciless Assault)
Active 2 = Leap (Iron Impact) + War Cry (Veteran's Warning) + Battle Rage (Ferocity) + Threatening Shout (Intimidate)

There are several variations I plan to try, but this one will probably be my first. I also intend to try a Legacy of Nightmares variation, either via the rings or the gem, that should be even tougher.

I'm not sure whether or not Inspiring Presence doubles the duration of shouts a second time on top of the set, or not. If so, quadrupling is nice...but also sort of overkill.
Also, my build now breezes through T16/GR70 without problems.
My obsidian ring of the zodiac does absolutely nothing for this build, and Flavor of Time and nemesis Bracers are purely for speed and QoL. They could easily be replaced with Vambraces and Endless Walk for better sustainability.
Bastion's Revered and Blood Brother both in the cube would only work for this season, though. Otherwise, also seems like quite a good set-up.

The set doubles the effectiveness of the shouts. Inspiring Presence doubles the duration of the shouts, plus it adds 2 minutes of 3% life regeneration per second.

Oh, and that 800 billion dps build I mentioned earlier? That was with no ancients.
Also it was without including the fear bonus, which would double the dps.

I dunno, it just crashed on startup. Did a full reinstall and now it boots up again. No clue what happened.

I may be doing something wrong, but I'm not seeing the Savages set on d3planner yet..so...how? LoD?

There’s a separate site for the Live and PTR versions, the Live one has not yet been updated to include the Savages set, you still have to use the PTR version. The PTR version will also let you do the cross-category cube abilities that are going to be part of the new season. The selector should be in the upper left corner of the page, right above the character portrait.

So...The new sets simply don't get a set dungeon? That's disappointing. I mean, it makes sense to preserve the difficulty of "master 8 set dungeons" and such, but still. Booh.

I'm still putting together a scavenger set.
I might run a Monk later to try the other new ones, I still don't have any of the pieces on any char.

--Patrick

Ugh. Now I remember why I dislike the Arachyr set as a starter. It doesn't have any damage improvement until the 6-piece bonus, meaning going from 4 to 6 is a pain in the butt.

I love playing the monk but the way I do it I always end up with massive survivability but no offense.

That’s usually how my chars all start, too. I’m really good about building to not die, but then I can’t do GRifts because even though I don’t die, I also can’t bring down the RG in less than 15min.

My Barb had her first death last night at P120. That’s what I get for trying to jump straight from T4 to T9, I guess.

Ok, reporting in on my experience with the Frenzy set. It's... it's absolutely ridiculous.

Up until I got all the pieces, I was running IK/WW with a Heart Slaughter (because I hadn't found either of the Bul-Kathos swords, the hexing pants, or the channeling shoulders yet). T10 is about as high as I could go solo, T11 was survivable but I couldn't really kill fast enough to hunt there unless the pylons went in my favor. I tried a T13 rift and couldn't even go much beyond the door without dying.

Then I complete the Savages set. With Bastion's Revered in the cube, The Undisputed Champion around my waist, and Oathkeeper and The Burning Axe of Sankis in hand, I tried a T10 rift. It was a laugh-fest. GR60 is the highest I can reach after completing a greater rift in multi-player, so I try that. A bit of a challenge since my Simplicity's Strength isn't high enough level yet to actually heal me, but my cubed Band of Might keeps me alive while I make mincemeat of the Rift Guardian. So I start climbing GR's to level my SS gem until it can heal me. I'm also running the Gogok of Swiftness and the Bane of the Stricken, but those are only level 11-12, so I don't get their full benefits. GR63, GR66, then GR68, and now SS is high enough to heal me.

"Ok," I think. "Let's go all the way to max." So I switch over to T16 difficulty to see if I can go through a yellow T16 rift (just to test the difficulty AND because completing it will unlock GR75 for me to complete the conquest). I have to lean on the Band of Might a lot more than I'd like, but now my SS gem is high enough that every hit heals me for 4% of my total health, and I'm hitting 10-15 times/sec. I heal so fast that unless a critter can kill me in one hit, I just don't die. Poison? Desecrator? Lightning? Doesn't matter, my health globe just stays full. I finish the T16 rift, only dying once. This build doesn't ever spend Fury, so if I'd bothered to cube an Aquila Cuirass (in place of the Furnace I have there now), I probably wouldn't have died at all.

Guys, my Axe is ancient, but my Oathbreaker isn't. It's just a normal Mighty Weapon, I'm mainly wielding it for the legendary bonus it gives to my speed. And I still finished T16.

Oh, and neither my Axe nor my Oathbreaker are socketed. No gem in either of my two weapons, one of 'em isn't even ancient, and I'm still clearing T16 with only minor difficulty. That's how ridiculous this set is. Oh, and it absolutely destroys Treasure Demons.

Later, after I've leveled the Gogok and BStricken, maybe I'll replace all my armor gems with diamonds or amethysts, switch my Paragon points over to pure Vitality, and see just how far the set bonus can take me. I haven't even tried to work the bonus from a pair of Depth Diggers in yet, but I'm already thinking we're talking about a set that can easily do GR90 and up. Now that Bastion's Revered has been reworked, I can't wait to see if there's a viable build with either the Legacy of Nightmares rings or the Legacy of Dreams stone.

Oh, and as an aside, enemies that can detect you and charge at you from off screen and kill you in one hit are utter bullshit.

EDIT: Ok, I finally got some gifts so I can put some sockets in these things. With emeralds in both weapons, I'm now critting for 125-200 billion per hit. And as I said earlier, I hit at least 10-15 times/sec. This is insane.
EDIT2: Yeah, according to d3planner.com, my current, unoptimized build is doing 628billion dps. Sheesh.

Yup, that's about on par with my non-season experience.
Looking back at last season vs this season, I will say that Barb is definitely easier/stronger for solo play than WD - and the Hot90S set may currently well be the strongest Barb set for single play.
The Mundunugu might be equally strong, but it'll require a lot more fiddling around and positioning and stuff.

case in point: I now have the 6 piece Anachyr bonus, and struggle with Malthael T7. I can probably kill the two ubers required for Slayer on T1...but the two on T10 for Champion? No way until I get a LOT more dedicated legendaries.
With the WotW Barb, I went straight to T10 and slaughtered them all back-to-back upon reaching Slayer.

Curiously, I did not get even a single piece of the WotW set until after I had completed IK, Savages, Raekor, was missing only one piece from Earth, and had passed GR60. So they either moved it higher up in “value” in the loot pool, or else RNG kept turning a blind eye to it for the very longest of times.

I'm referring to last season, when WotW was Haedrig's gift ;-)

I'm surprised, too, though -when I gambled for the 90 Savages in non-seasonal, they dropped like flies. I've been gambling quite a bit on my seasonal WD, and haven't seen a single piece of Mundunugu.
At least I found Manajuma fairly easily, so I can chicken run to my heart's delight, but still.

I heard the complaint from more than one person while doing public rifts that Mundunugu pieces were hard to find.
Perhaps they are in short supply due to Coronavirus?

I suppose they know everyone is playing for the new sets, and thus they've made them fairly rare.
