[PC Game] World of Warcraft: Catch All Thread

Haven't made the choice yet. Maybe it won't allow you to invite me until I have? I'm only lvl 8 right now.

oh that must be it. I tried to add you and it said we weren't in the same alliance. When you can chose and send messages, I'm on my hunter Squids :)

Ok, upgraded to MoP, all I need to do now is download the game. That shouldn't take too long, right? Heh... not so much. I'm downloading 20GB worth of game files at the blazing fast speed of 84.2KBps. Damnit.

Nah, WoW Korean players are getting 10s and 25s on separate lock out timers so they can farm more. Woo *finger twirl*

I still laugh that servers like Frank's are overflowing with CRZ people, and yet I can level from 1-80 without seeing anyone else still on my main server.
Their 25 mans are not only on separate lock-outs, they're dropping higher ilevel items. That's where the outcry is on the NA and EU forums.

I swear they have something weird going on with how they merge servers. I didn't have any problem until bc. Then I had to constantly deal with 90's running around laughing and one shotting all the mobs, and always having the passenger on my 2 person mount getting dismounted while switching to a new zone. Its nothing horrible, but its just stupid annoying stuff for no real benefit.

Maxed archaeology on my DK. Now what?

Got in on my first Sha kill Saturday night. Used a coin to loot a set of epic pants, so I wasn't paying attention and forgot to loot the claw to go get the boots.

Tonight's kill was much harder. Spawned on top of a roaming pack of elite Hozen. So the raid's attention was distracted by dealing with many more adds than usual. One full wipe, and I died myself at least six times. But we got the kill and I got my fancy purple boots. :D

I'd like to get in on a sha kill, but my hours of playing are odd.
So are mine, thanks to third shift. I get a couple hours in the morning for dailies after I get home from work, and a couple hours for more dailies after I get up again that night. Dead hours after work chores are done are for gathering and other profession work.

I can't really do randoms until the weekends when I have more time.

I'm working on the quest now that gives me the three coins. How do these work?
You gather 90 of the lesser ones (which if you do even just Lotus dailies you will have tons soon) and once a week you turn them in to get the Elder coins. For LFR and Sha of Anger, when you get your loot you are given a chance to use a coin to roll again, either to win more gold or an item the boss drops for your spec. So let's say you kill Sha of Anger and he drops gold for you. Spend a coin and roll, you could win an actual drop (tier gloves or legs, bits of epic PvP gear) or just more gold.[DOUBLEPOST=1351452575][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, the respawn on Sha is now like 10-20 minutes, so depending on how active your server is you could stick to Kun-Lai/Eternal Blossoms/Four Winds zones and likely find people shouting to make a group.

Ok, bought the game, got the download to finish... took a few hours to get the download speed up above 100KB/s, but then it downloaded fairly quickly; and leveled a panda through the starting zone, which was a pretty good set of quests. The monk class isn't really doin' it for me, though; so I'll have to figure out a different class to really have fun leveling.

The monk starts out really weak, it doesn't really start to show what it has to offer until level 30-40

I got incredibly bored with my healing monk and have pretty much dropped him entirely.

I do have to say, Now that I'm healing some higher level dungeons, I hate monks.

LET THE DAMN TANK TANK!

Yeah... I was getting that impression. I went brewmaster (on account of I love tanking), but I just wasn't having fun. That's OK though, there are plenty of other classes out there.

Warlock got a bunch of changes in Mists of Pandaria, so that's another option should you feel so inclined.
Might give it a look. The only two classes I've never been fond enough of to get to max level for whichever expac I was playing them in were shamans and warlocks.

Enh Shaman got kinda hosed this expansion.
Enhance gets hosed every expansion. I gave up early Cata.

As for Monks, Brewmaster (tank) spec is the easiest to level with in old content (and gets useful abilities the earliest). The biggest gripe I had with Monk leveling was your highest DPS ability in the DPS spec doesn't unlock till 56 or so. Healers are stuck with one heal until about 32. It's really not well-designed and makes for a boring leveling experience until about mid-BC-start of Wrath.

I'm about level 22 on my hunter now and I'm liking it so far. Have my first mount, the tedium of running to pick up new abilites every few levels is gone. It seems like if I down a bunch of enemies and all are close, I can loot them all from one corpse, saving more time. Definitely seems geared towards getting me to the end asap.

All in all I am having fun with it so far. Still a ways to go though.

Yeah I got really bored with Brewmaster Monk. Got him to 70 (and the only reason I got that high in the first place was due to the Enlightment buff) and just couldn't do it anymore. There's just no reason for me to play one when Guardian Druid is just so much -meatier-. Brewmaster Monk is 100% revolved around it's purifying/dodge brew mechanic and it's just too restrictive for me.

The way Blizzard changed the way you get talents and skills makes since at max level content, but makes for really boring leveling, since it takes so long before you get any tools in your toolbelt.

Agreed. Some passives are nice, but others you don't really feel like you would, say, those 5/5 crit % talents and such. Demonology Warlock was crazy boring until I hit 70 and got Molten Core, allowing the super-fast Soulfire casts. I think some talents really need to come into play at a lower level with all the abilities that get shifted into specific specs (Destruction Warlocks, for example, don't even get the Corruption spell, so it's a lot of Incinerate spam at lower levels).

What's people's current beef with guardian druids right now? Every time I do a dungeon and it's a guardian tank, the healer is almost 90% likely to immediately bail. I honestly don't know what's going on as I've never leveled one.

I wouldn't have a clue, we're feeling extremely powerful and I'd sooner see a healer bail when seeing a Brewmaster Monk than a Guardian Druid. I've had zero issues tanking heroics/LFR.

I think the issue stems from, all in all, healers seem to find Brewmasters and bears the squishiest of tanks right now. I definitely agree on Brewmasters, especially if they don't manage Guard/Shuffle/Stagger properly (it's not easy). Druids seems to just bank on if the tank's any good and got some gear, as I hear that complaint less and less as the xpac marches on.

Having to maintain Guard + Shuffle is already tedious due to the very short up-time they have. Toss in having to use brews at the right time too and one bad cycle could spell near death for a tank. That's never good.

Yeah, having to keep an eye on your Stagger ticks so you can down the Purifying Brew without wasting a GCD, keeping Shuffle up with BoK and then still making sure you have the Chi for Guard/Dampen Harm when needed. It's a lot to manage and the reason I skipped out on BM tanking.

Giving a tank 2 resources to manage is just a horrible idea, compounded by giving them 2 consistantly required buffs up with short timers. No idea what they were thinking, I agree completely.

Even as Monk DPS I have a lot to watch. Have to manage my Energy, making sure it never caps as well as the same with my Chi, keep my ArPen buff up (thankfully this will be a single 30% buff, not 3 stacking 10% in 5.1), keep Rising Sun Kick on cooldown and attempt to use Tigerseye Brew anywhere between 5-10 stacks (also not letting it cap for long). It's a little overwhelming but considering I used to play Enhance, it's at least manageable.

Pretty much my issue with healing as well. Too much micro managing. Plus getting yelled at by tanks who don't understand that I can t build enough chi only through my healing spells and that I sometimes have to get in to get a few jabs to build chi.

Eh, I already have a shaman, druid, paladin and priest healer. I didn't need another healer anyway :p

I love healing classes, what can I say.
