I feel like such an ass. I went over to my friend and her boyfriend's place and we were chatting and having a good time. I decided at that point to shove my foot waaaay down my throat like choking on an ankle type foot in the mouth. God, I feel dumb.

I hope they just realize I was talking out of my ass without thinking.

There's this one girl I became friends with last year. We'd done stuff together and she'd been to my place a couple times. I was thinking about telling her that I'm interested in her romantically, but I didn't want to do it right before leaving for Qatar. We still kept in touch despite the enormous time difference. I was planning to tell her when I got back to Texas next month. Now it turns out she's started to date someone else. She and I weren't together so it's not like I lost anything. But, yeah, it still sucks. Sometimes being overseas is a drag.

There a ring? No? Bird dog him.

Now that I'm visiting the UK, the time difference isn't nearly as bad. I'll give her a call very soon. The problem with living overseas is you can't make international calls with cell phones, and I'm usually asleep by the time her day is done (and vice versa), so we generally have to set up a Skype appointment in advance.

Just to let you all know, she and I are pretty close. I won't go into any details, but I'm one of the few people she has confided in about a serious illness affecting somebody she deeply cares about. She also said that she'll make dinner next time we meet up for one of our TV marathons, so we were planning on meeting up again soon after my return.

I'm thinking I should have told her before I left for Qatar, but it did not seem appropriate at the time. I thought my feelings were just happiness at having made a friend who had so much in common with me. But now, as I've gotten to know her better, they are genuinely romantic. If she just wants to stay friends after I tell her, I'll be content with that. I'll even be fine waiting through the possible period of awkwardness because at least then I would've gotten it off my chest. But I know that if I don't tell her, and she ends up with this other guy, then I'll regret it forever.

Our CEO gave the entire company the afternoon off with the explanation that it is a "nice day". Then, we got massive loads of doughnuts in the kitchen. Seems like a win, but I'm old enough to recognize the sound of that whistle just before the bomb hits...

I think you can upgrade that to a rant. I've also learned that whenever a company gets a new manager to "maximize profit" it usually means they're going to fire anyone who doesn't want to work 80 hours a week.

Yep, I know that whistle well myself, and I can hear it ever so faintly off in the distance just at the description you gave...

SIIIIIIICK.

Why couldn't the guy who came into work sick on Monday have just stayed the fuck home? I've done nothing productive all week and I'm still sick as shit. Goddamn I hate people who don't cover their mouths when coughing.

Marriage is...

...both of you coughing up sickness stuff into different drains of the apartment at the same time. That's some "two hearts beating as one" shit right there.

I really don't like working Saturdays. Monday rolls around and it feels like I didn't have a weekend at all. And now I've got 5 days in a row like normal. Feels like I'll be working two weeks solid even though I'm not.

Between trying to get this baby room put together for her immanent arrival (we are under two weeks to the due date!:Leyla:), my video production job, my regular full time job and recording Fallen Empire stuff I feel like my life is a series of checklists that I am constantly behind on. Ugh.

waah the documentary I am watching is talking about the death of Jim Henson.

Always makes me cry. :(

Ahh now it is the memorial service.. whimper.

Holy crap probably the most stressful day of my life.
2 projects due, one in class and one at midnight. I couldn't figure out how to do almost anything with the first project (though I don't think i was the only one) but I spent so many hours working on it.
Then I have the other project which i finished at about 8 but I needed my partners to post their final reports so I can submit them all. Of course with about an hour before due time, nothing. I send it out and two of them post their reports, but one doesn't. When I ask him why not, he said he's still finishing up his part and asks me to write it. I have basically no idea how to do any of what he did. Thankfully one of my other partners came through with that.
Then, doing a last look through of my stuff, I noticed that within the last 10 minutes, one partner made a change to my document (everything was on dropbox). I look through it and can't find it. I have to call him twice in order to get him to pick up and when I do, he tells me he remembers one change but not the others. I then find out that he mangled what I wrote making it completely wrong. I have the correct stuff on my laptop but I was at my girlfriend's apartment. This is at 11:50 and I live about 10 minutes away. She has to speed to my place and I bolt to my room, find the files, put them together, and thankfully upload them at 11:58 so at least it has a happy ending. Though my partners had stuff to upload too and I don't know for sure if they did, but I'm afraid to ask.

And now I can focus on the other big assignments due over this weekend that I haven't looked at because I've been so busy with these two projects. I can't wait until finals week because I'll actually be able to relax.

Isn't it great when your work relies on someone else not messing up everything?

It was just surprising though because there have been no issues until tonight. We've always told each other whenever we've made the slightest change to someone else's part and then this.
