You’re saying that my kids won’t do everything I tell them to without question??
No, for that, you need minions. The good ones seem to have been spoken for, but perhaps I can interest you in this Starter Box of...*looks through the back of the shop* Houseflies of Doom? No? maybe *rummages* Deathdeer? No?

Today was the first day of Li'l Z's soccer season, and this year his division has named all the teams after World Cup countries. Li'l Z is on Team Germany, and all I can think about is Hetalia and Italy saying ,"Hey, Germany!" anytime someone refers to his team. :D

Blitz Germany! Blitz!

Cringe today.

An employee walked out the door at 5 to 4 on Friday was back this morning with tears in their eyes.

Ever notice how the go-to reference sites for halloween props are appropriately ancient?

They're slices of the WWW from the late 90s/early 2000s

Yet they're still traded around as the authoritative sources

I'm gonna be honest, I didn't know there were authoritative sources on halloween props.

Got turned down for two job applications, but had a great phone interview yesterday. They're bringing me in for an interview after the hurricane stuff is over. I still haven't heard back from the place I did a sitdown interview back in August.

Sheesh, people sometimes.
I have a Messenger group with some friends to get together and do some tabletop RPGing in our neighbourhood. We've managed to do one oneshot so far (there's a couple of newbies in the group so this was a sort of introduction thingie).
The group's been completely dormant/inactive since, for the past two or three weeks.
So I decide to post a couple of suggestions of where to go next...And 5 out of 7 people have responded immediately, with all kinds of ideas and suggestions for settings, systems, etc. The group's now been going non-stop for an hour, and I can barely keep up reading.
if you're all this active and interested, why the heck did no-one post anything sooner? I'm not even DM'ing, I'm just a regular player, would it kill anyone else to take *some* initiative?

Welcome to the world of adult tabletop gaming. Have they tried to actually set a date yet? :p

Hurricane related, but not really. The WVU-NC State game this Saturday has been canceled, and I've talked to some folks who work in local radio who are grumbling about lost ad revenue and the like.

So I'll ask @GasBandit. If a Cowboys game or other such event gets canceled like that, how much shit hits the fan on your end?

If they cancel well in advance like that, it's actually a huge relief. It means we get our 7 hours of regular programming back, and can run regular (rate per spot client) ads instead of displacing them. The football sponsors are all package billed, so they still pay the same total despite the cancellation. If any get whiny, we can bonus them 8 spots in regular inventory to replace their game spots, but that's still much less of a pain in the ass than dealing with the actual game.

Normally I would just delete this, but I think the funniest thing about it is that fact that funny jokes is in quotes.

Nice try, editing out the URL of your own bot...You think we don't recognize DavesFlappyHooties.com spam from other forums? And, really, "Funny Jokes" needs to be in quotes in this case. :awesome:

This reminds me - what was that website you linked a year or three back that was just a massive online international grocery? I lost the link sometime in the last year and now I can occasionally afford to use it.
I don't remember off the top of my head, but this assortment was $20 for 50 via Amazon Prime.

Dang, I'll keep looking then. My issue with Amazon is that I'd have to know what I was looking for, whereas with an Asian grocery, I can just browse the list of crazy ingredients and snacks and find new things.

Edit: It's the digital version of roaming through Uwajimaya's and buying some random beverage or sweet.

You might enjoy Universal Yums. You subscribe to their service, and then every month they ship a box of treats from a different country for you to try. Each package also comes with a helpful little book that explains each food, history of the snacks, and more. My family and I love it.
