Well put.
All I know is this is Universal's second shot at starting a shared universe of their classic horror monsters, after Dracula Untold wasn't the franchise-starter they were hoping for.
That's what I was thinking. The Brendan Fraser films were campy, schlocky fun. This trailer looks like what would happen if WB/DC got their hands on the Mummy franchise.
Hey Universal? If you want to create a movie universe, emulate Marvel, not DC.
It says something when I think I'd rather watch a Brendan Fraser film than one starring Tom Cruise and...that was Russel Crowe doing the voiceover right? *checks IMDB* Yup, Russel Crowe, and he's playing...Dr Henry Jekyll.
Yeah, Universal? Don't try to cram Hyde into this movie. Don't have the heroes try to use the Hyde formula against the Mummy. Don't mention him. Don't even hint at him. Or if you absolutely must - make it a post credits scene.
How many movies until Abbott and Costello show up? Will they be in someone else's movie or get their own origin movie first?

I will admit there are some parts of the trailer that intrigue me. Is that Unicron? Why is Optimus stabbing Bumblebee? I thought Lennox was stated to have been killed?
