[PC Game] Halforums House 3: Halforums Academy Semester 1 Complete!

My popularity! I'm terrible at sports and studies, without popularity what am I going to do?

...

So this is what it feels like to be a teenaged girl.

No, your fine. Many Japanese schools do half-days on Saturdays or have students that go to cram schools on Saturday. Sunday is basically the only day that students have to themselves and that's assuming they don't have to do club stuff then.

Boy am I glad I didn't go to school in Japan. Despite all the rampant totty I apparently missed out on.
It gets worse.

- Education is a right in Japan. As such, there is basically nothing you can do to deal with trouble making students. All you can do is ask them to leave the classroom. Expulsion is basically something that doesn't happen anymore except in VERY serious cases or to cover up something.
- Japanese schools don't have janitors. The students have to clean up, with a rotating calender of students who do it after school is out.
- Many students are in clubs, sports, or in cram schools after school. Very few have jobs and those that do need permission from the school, even if it's at a store the family owns. It's actually kind of uncommon for a student to head straight home in Japan.
- Japanese schools are basically second parents, legally. This is because of how fierce the competition is for schools in Japan, meaning good schools can basically demand whatever they want from the students and their families. It's not uncommon for the police to notify a student's school before the parents in case of an issue.
- If something happens to you at the school (including serious stuff like assault or rape) the school will deny it because of the fucked up honor code they have. If you make a big deal, there is an excellent chance they will make you transfer (though they'll bend over backwards to help you go somewhere good if you cooperate). Victim blaming is still a thing in Japan.

Damn it, Cheesy! I know you're a nice guy and all, but when a girl wants you to put your face between her legs, you grab a snorkel and dive in buddy! Grr!

Don't worry about it. Maybe you'll be lucky in the next episode.
Actually, Next episode I think might be more YOUR lucky day.

Day 7 is Dei Day.

(The order of protagonists has been based on the class roster, starting at Gusto and working bottom->top, then right->left. I dunno if I'll stick with this all the way through)

DAY 7: DEI SKATES

On the path to school, Dei meets Film Fanatic. (I've noticed a distinct tendency for this game to have love interests waiting around for you at the start of the day).

1 - Dei and FF meet on the way to school.JPG

They make chitchat walking to school, heading for the library. Both Dei and FF are quite intelligent, they know the importance of boning up (sorry, I couldn't resist) on their revision before class.

2 - Passing Bhamv and Shakey enroute to the library.JPG

Studying proceeds efficiently. Bones is also there in the library, but he keeps to himself.

3 - Bones is also in the library.JPG

Afterwards, Dei goes for a stroll and is met by Mind Detective in the breezeway. MD asks her what she thinks of Gusto. Dei says while they're not close friends, he's a decent enough guy. MD tends to agree.

4 - Mind Detective asks about Gusto.JPG

Dei's stroll takes her through the courtyard. Nobody's there, it's a serene scene.

5 - Dei in the courtyard.JPG

Heading back through the breezeway to class, she encounters Dirona who asks her, "It's better to keep impure relationships under control, isn't it?" What are you trying to say, Dirona? Are you talking about Dei and FF, or are you worried about your next move with Cheesy?

6 - Dirona in the Breezeway.JPG

No sooner does Dirona leave then FF reappears and propositions Dei right there. Really? Right here in the breezeway? Dei tells him to use his head. She has him follow her...

7 - Film Fanatic - Horny yes, common sense no.JPG

To the gym storage room.

8 - Privacy at last - wait whats that noise.JPG

But no sooner do they arrive than FRANK barges in and starts trying to talk to FF. Dei is incredulous. What's a girl gotta do to get some privacy around here?

9 - FRANK THE GOD DAMN MOTHER LOVING TANK.JPG

Trying to get Frank to get the hint, she plants a big smooch right on FF's lips. Frank isn't THAT dense. He makes himself scarce. But now everybody's too self conscious to do anything more.

10 - Only enough time for a smooch so make it count.JPG

(Also get a look at low rez FF's face in the above screenshot, on the left. ROFL. He looks like Dei's eating him alive)

The class bell rings, putting paid to any further hanky panky anyway. The unresolved tension of the morning undoes all the preparation and study that came before it, and Dei finds herself bored in class.

Finally, it's time for lunch. FF says he need to take care of something first, but asks Dei to wait for him on the rooftop. She agrees.

11 - FF asks Dei to wait for him on the roof.JPG

She chats briefly with Kags about schoolwork before heading out.

12 - A word with Kags.JPG

On the roof, Dirona speaks with her while she waits. Dirona confides that she has misgivings about what constitutes a "safe" day or "dangerous" day, when it comes to the possibility of pregnancy, and she doesn't really believe that safe days are all that safe.

13 - Dirona might be baby crazy.JPG

Shakey shows up and talks with Dirona, leaving Dei to ponder once again whether Dirona is referencing herself, or Dei, or something else.

Then Jay shows up.

Dei's worried, she's heard about his reputation. But he just wants to talk about the homework.

Then Kags shows up and Jay's out of Dei's hair. Frank has also arrived and is talking to Dirona. FF has yet to show.

14 - The Lunch Crowd.JPG

Bones is also waiting there alone. He strikes up a conversation about the sports clubs.

15 - This is Bones NoBeard with your daily dose of sports news.JPG

When that's done, Tin Whistler comes over and asks what she thinks of Bones.

16 - Tin Whistler curious about Bones.JPG

And there's still no sign of FF.

17 - Still no sign of FF.JPG

People start leaving, having finished eating. Frank comes over to talk.

18 - Frank a la Rooftop.JPG

Eventually there's nobody left on the roof with her but Terrik.

Dei tries to engage him in conversation about the classwork, but he's not in the mood for that, or much else. Doesn't seem to be much chemistry here between them.

19 - Terrik isn't interested.JPG

Frank comes back again and talks to her about sports. Dei's starting to wonder if there's a reason he keeps coming back to talk to her here, and what could be keeping Film.

20 - Frank came back.JPG

Frank and Terrik then head off to the other side of the roof, talking. It's clear they're the thickest of friends.

21 - Dum de doo.JPG

Dei tries to strike up a conversation with Lana. She knows Lana doesn't have much in the way of friends at school. But try as she might, Dei can't get Lana to carry her half of the conversation.

22 - Lana makes Terrik look like a social bulldozer.JPG

Finally fed up with waiting, Dei goes looking for FF. She finds him at the entrance lockers, looking as though he was heading her way too, finally. He says, "hold still a sec." Eh? Sure..

23 - There he freakin' is.JPG

Aaand GLOMP.

24 - GLOMP.JPG

And then Lana Karron comes along and sees them necking and yells at them to break it up. No wonder she's got no friends!

25 - Luna Karron, wet blanket.JPG

At Dei's prompting, the two decide to finally head to the roof for their long delayed lunch. When they arrive, they've got the whole place to themselves.

26 - The roof is their oyster.JPG

When they finish, the area is still empty. Film Fanatic gets a look on his face, and repeats his suggestion from that morning. The guy has a thing for wanting to do it in public!

27 - So ya wanna.JPG

And he looks so crestfallen when she turns him down.

28 - DENIED.JPG

She consoles him, and while she cheers him up, her decision is proved quite correct when Lana Karron and Little Kagsin both come out onto the roof seconds later. How humiliating THAT would have been.

29 - Prudence dictates not having sex in the most frequented lunch venue on campus at noon.JPG

There's no more time for trysts though, it's the end of lunch. Afternoon classes don't interest Dei any more than the morning classes did.

Film Fanatic notices her frustration, and attempts to help with soothing words. Once she's a little more her normal self, he suggests they go warm up together. It's a transparent excuse to spend more time together, of course, as they're in different clubs and so of limited utility, but what the heck.

30 - FF wants to get physical, physical.JPG

The calisthenics are invigorating, even though Tennis isn't her usual gig. However, Film Fanatic can't really keep up, as he's half the athlete Dei is. But now she's gotta head off to her own group.

31 - Tennis for two.JPG

She just makes it to the hall as others are arriving, starting with Tin Whistler and Bones NoBeard, shortly followed by Frank the Tank. Kendo is very popular at this school.

32 - In time for kendo practice.JPG

She heads into the girl's locker room to get changed. Dirona arrives shortly thereafter, looking unfocused. She talks to Dei and it's clear she's got another Kendoka on her mind. Everybody knows by now about her and poor hapless Cheesy. Shakey can't keep a secret for anything. Dei encourages Dirona to take the initiative, because lord knows Cheesy can't seem to.

33 - Dirona likes extra Cheese.JPG

Most of the club members have arrived now. Tin and Bones are done warming up, and Jay is talking to Shakey. It's time to start.

34 - Kendo Time.JPG

As feared, warming up with Film Fanatic seems to have done more harm than good at Kendo Practice. Dei's mind is elsewhere and is totally off her game. The entire day has been a long cavalcade of frustrations.

She waits in the courtyard adjoining the Tennis Courts. Frank finds her there and asks about her studies.

35 - Frank in the Courtyard.JPG

Looking around, it seems Frank's towering figure obscured her tiny frame from sight and FF didn't even see them, and walked by. Dei finds him at the gates, talking to Luna. Dei isn't sure what to make of that development, and doesn't cause a confrontation, but interrupts anyway.

36 - FF and Luna at the gates.JPG

FF and Dei go for a slow walk around campus, and FF eventually leads them around to the passage behind the gym.

37 - One Track Mind.JPG

And there... he wraps his arms around her...

And MIND DETECTIVE comes and admonishes them for their lewd behavior. Jeez!

38 - MIND GOD DAMN MOTHER LOVING DETECTIVE.JPG

Dei takes the clueless Film Fanatic by the scruff and decides they'd best continue their conversation somewhere off the thoroughfare. Like an empty classroom.

39 - This Classroom is more like a cheap motel at this point.JPG

The concept of privacy, and its benefits, suddenly dawns on FF and he decides to go one further and invites her home with him. FINALLY.

40 - Would you like to come up and see my etchings.JPG

What happens next is awkward, fumbling, and inexpert, but thankfully a long-awaited release from a day's frustration, and above all, uninterrupted and discreet. FF walks her home afterwards.

41 - Dirona and FF in his room alone at last.JPG

END OF DAY 7

You know, for managing to get a relationship that fast and that strong, anime me is a dunce when it comes to the idea of having sex in private.

Also, sounds like Dirona may be having herself some trouble.

Scratch that, I do have a comment. I'm dubbing Lana Karron with a new nickname... "The Hall Monitor."[DOUBLEPOST=1381036897,1381036864][/DOUBLEPOST]

Hormones are a hell of a thing.

I have no words. Looks like clubbing Cheesy over the head and dragging him off the bushes is going to be the only cure.

Also... is pregnacy a thing in this game??

Not to my knowledge, no. But in-universe, the kids wouldn't know that, right? They talk about it occasionally, but don't think it ever actually happens.

Tune in in approximately 1 hour for DAY 8: The Melancholy of Klew DuckPirate

HOLY CRAP...Anime Bones is Bones in high school. No beard, super serious, shows up maybe once or twice an eon, and has literally no game. I couldn't be happier, this is hilarious.

FeMD is stumbling in on sexytimes a little more often that I recall happening (2 decades ago...!!) but otherwise is the unpopular, unathletic wallflower that I was.

Actually I haven't taken pictures of it, but you're making friends with Dei and Gusto. Not thick as thieves yet, but definitely friendly.

DAY 8: KLEW DUCKPIRATE

Klew's first week was a rollercoaster. Tons of friends and a popularity upswell, and then it all backfired when her girlfriend Raven started feuding with more than half the student body. In fact, Klew's having doubts about that whole "girlfriend" thing vis a vis Raven Poe right now. She's been spending a lot of time with Shakey, and if Shakey swung that way chances are Klew would have dumped Raven days ago. But even still, it's nice to have someone in your corner when the world is against you. Also Eve Steinman's been quite nice to her lately, and Klew is wondering if she shouldn't spend more time with her. Also, Tin Whistler and Film Fanatic are at least cordial with her. The rest of the class either can't be bothered to talk to her, or like Frank, actively stare daggers at her ever since he caught her and Raven going at it in the last day or two. She can still hear his muttered epithet of "Whore" in quiet moments, and it makes her mad. Who is he to judge anyway? At least she and Raven are honest about their relationship, not hiding it like Frank and Justine. She hates him. But she also realizes every day that passes with Raven is worse than the last, and today is probably going to be the day that stops.

Leaving her house, she's relieved to run into Shakey first. It's good to have a friend to walk with in situations like these.

1 - Klew sees Shakey at the start of the day.JPG

Shakey's yawning and trudging along like she didn't get much sleep.

2 - Shakey is half asleep.JPG

Klew asks her if she wants to go study, and she perks up. The two head off to school together.

3 - Off to the Library.JPG

This early, the library's not crowded. The two can concentrate on their studies, and studying goes rather well.

Toward the end, Klew hesitantly asks Shakey what she thinks of Raven. Shakey doesn't mince words. In her opinion, Raven is worthless scum.

4 - Shakey can't stand Raven.JPG

Thinking this over, Klew heads off to use the bathrooms before class. But as she passes through the entrance lockers area, she sees Raven...and Frank! And they're fighting! She runs to break it up.

5 - Frank and Raven fight at the lockers.JPG

But Frank is a towering, chiseled six feet of steel reinforced muscle, and Raven won't listen to reason. Klew can do little but watch them trade blows, wondering why there never seem to be any teachers around when this sort of thing happens. Silently, she hopes Raven knocks his judgmental block off... but she knows Raven's no athlete and doesn't stand a chance.

Soon, training and size tell the difference, and Raven is left crying on the floor. Klew yells at Frank to get the hell out of here. He tells her to shut up.

6 - Frank Wins.JPG

Raven flees from the corridor. Klew catches up to her behind the gym, and tries to cheer her up. Just because their relationship is on the rocks doesn't mean she's going to let Frank get away with this.

7 - Raven cheers up.JPG

Klew walks Raven back to the classroom in time for the morning bell. The morning classes aren't difficult to an ace student like Klew. Unfortunately this leaves her brainpower to stew over the drama in her life. When it's time for lunch, she asks Shakey to eat with her. She's gotta get her head together if she's going to handle the rest of the day. While they eat, Shakey asks what she thinks of Mind Detective. Klew responds that at least Mind Detective seems not to be one of the people intent on making her unhappy, and these days that in itself is something to praise.

8 - Lunch with Shakey.JPG

Klew notices Raven hasn't even bothered coming to the roof. She decides to go looking for her. Is she fighting again? Or just callously ignoring her?

She finds Raven still in the classroom at her desk, and almost nobody else is there. When Klew speaks her name, the smile on Raven's face looks painted on and paper thin, forced a little too hard. Like she was hoping not to have this conversation. Klew steels herself. She's a shy wallflower to begin with, so it comes only with difficulty that she tells Raven they're through. Raven seems to take it soberly. "I see... that's too bad..."

9 - Breaking up with Raven.JPG

As she leaves the classroom, she doesn't see Raven's face contort in fury.

She goes for a walk to clear her head. At the front gate, Tin Whistler strikes up a conversation about their clubs.

10 - Tin Whistler by the gate and who is hugging Bhamv.JPG

On the way back in, she runs into Shakey again.

11 - Shakey's heard the news.JPG

Klew asks her to take a walk with her, and they pass through the school courtyard. Shakey senses Klew is upset and concentrates on cheering her up. Klew asks her about Eve Stienman, but Eve is as much a mystery to Shakey as she is to most of the others.

12 - Klew and Shakey in the courtyard.JPG

And speak of the devil, Eve strolls into the Courtyard as well. Eve is looking very dispirited. Klew sees an opportunity to firm up a friendship, and pays Shakey's kindness forward to cheer up Eve.

The conversation turns to schoolwork, at which they both excel. Lord Rendar, as ever in such situations, eavesdrops nearby.

13 - Lord Rendar eavesdrops on Klew and Eve Stienman.JPG

Klew brings up the nature of love, and her recent breakup. The two are on a similar wavelength - Eve also confides she really doesn't like Raven.

14 - Getting to know Eve.JPG

During a lapse in the conversation, Lord Rendar asks Eve to accompany him somewhere, and Eve agrees. Klew is curious - nobody ever really sees Eve socialize, and there's something about Lord Rendar's aura that seems unusual. She resolves to follow them.

The trail leads to the roof. They're not eating, but when they spot Klew coming out the door, they separate.

Going to the bathroom, Klew runs into Shakey again. She asks Shakey to start trying to be nice to Eve - Klew would like to add her to their woefully small circle of friends. Shakey is 120% in favor.

15 - Shakey in the Girls' Room.JPG

The bell rings for afternoon classes, and with the weight on Klew's shoulders lifting by the minute, she's able to concentrate and do well. As the class is packing up to head off to practice, Dirona announces out loud she'd like everybody to be show Dei some support. Klew doesn't know what's going on, but she's eager to mend fences and responds positively. Frank then announces kendo practice that day is open to all comers, but Klew will be damned if she acknowledges he exists.

Klew chats politely with Tin Whistler for a moment, then heads off to tennis club.

16 - Tin Whistler after class.JPG

She asks teammate Lord Rendar, who she saw chatting with Shakey, to practice with her. If she plays her cards right, she might be on the verge of building a real social network here! Klew practices extra hard.

17 - Tennis Practice with Lord Rendar.JPG

As they change after practice in the locker room, Klew asks Shakey to also try to bring Rendar into their circle. Klew's been a shy girl, but Shakey's been like a sister to her, and agrees that more friends is better.

18 - Conspiring with Shakey after practice.JPG

Klew heads over to the swimming pool and waits. It isn't long before Eve Stienman comes out of the locker room. She asks her if she wants to walk home together. Eve agrees.

19 - Eve and Klew leave the pool.JPG

As they pass the river, Raven is there. Klew reflects on what a difference a single day can make. Eve and Klew separate at the corner and continue to their homes.

20 - They pass Raven on the way home.JPG

END OF DAY 8

anything.JPG popularity.JPG sports.JPG study.JPG

Epilogue: Klew and Raven hit rock bottom, as most of their remaining popularity was tied up in each other. Now that the relationship is over, there's nowhere to go but up. Overall it's been a great improvement today for Klew, starting to make new friends again, but she's got to watch out - she's made an enemy of Raven (it's a good thing Poe decided to swap out the Evil trait or today could have ended VERY differently), and Frank is even more convinced of his terrible opinion of her than ever. In other news, it looks like Dei got tired of waiting for Film Fanatic to grow a brain and confessed to him. They're now an official couple. Lana Karron finally made a friend - she and Kags are now great pals. It seems Frank has also now caught Dirona's eye, though he's oblivious to that fact, fortunately for Cheesy. Despite her wandering eye, she and Cheesy are as sickneningly twiterpatted with each other as ever. He just better get it together before the school's kendo star sweeps her off her feet - though I doubt Justine Me would stand by and let that happen.

Man, this was a dramatic installment. At least it does sound like things will start looking up as Flew's social network builds. Let's hope Raven doesn't do anything too serious for revenge.

Also...yeah, anime me seems like he's smart with books but dumb with relationship handling.

Ok, Sim Frank needs a beating now.
I suspect that this will turn out rather games-of-thrones-ish, where there aren't any heroes or true villains, and everybody does awful things to each other all the time for no reason, and lots of sex.

Hrm. Maybe I should have been documenting the hentai scenes as well after all. HEY HBO GIVE ME A JOB STORYBOARDING

The conversation turns to schoolwork, at which they both excel. Lord Rendar, as ever in such situations, eavesdrops nearby.
Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerd!
