    That Healthcare Thing

Yep, he'll even give a funny look to the camera.

    That Healthcare Thing

Motion defeated. The final vote is the amendments. Those still have to be voted on by the Senate before they become law. Basically healthcare has passed, with some changes possibly coming.

    That Healthcare Thing

It's a motion to recommit. Meaning the bill would go back to committee. Once again...I think.

    That Healthcare Thing

The bill is now (technically) eligible to be signed into law. But the Republicans have now raised a motion to basically start from scratch citing the executive order on abortion funding as a reason. If this motion is defeated, then the bill can be signed. ..at least I think I have that right.

    The laziness is spreading

I've seen the LICD comic and I always forget to add it to the bookmarks (done now). I think that's why it's always in the back of my mind whenever I see a late comic. Perhaps you're right, this is just a small sampling. But you'd think the people with their names on a book called "How to Make...

    The laziness is spreading

I check fewer ones on Tuesdays and Thursdays since most update on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays. Real Life Starslip Crisis Chainsawsuit 8-Bit Theater PvP (just started checking this one regularly again, might change back soon) I'm very surprised Straub is behind. He's usually pretty good...

    The laziness is spreading

So, out of the 5 comics I check that are supposed to be updated Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1 actually had an update (thank you Mr. Dean). I know these are free and complaining about it is close to punching their mothers, but it just comes across as completely unprofessional. Perhaps it's just...

Old Laws (South Carolina) - Register to overthrow the government... 5$

I would, but I think you can only register for yourself. On second thought...perhaps not. I doubt Dave would want to put his address on something like this.

Zelda 2...20 years late to the party

I loved that game, but you haven't played it until you've played it on the cartridge. That thing was probably the most freeze prone of all the old NES games. Imagine everything you've just gone through, beat shadow Link and right as you deliver the death blow, the thing freezes. And, of...

Tea Party says "Screw it, we're our own party now!"

You might also note the 16th amendment was ratified in 1913. Up until then levies were even controversial when it came to taxing. That also was right at the beginning of Wilson's term and he's kinda held up as somewhat of a lightening rod of the Progressive movement. Regardless, due to its...

Tea Party says "Screw it, we're our own party now!"

I'm curious about the not paying taxes thing. I've heard plenty of people around me talk about the income tax being unconstitutional. While I might agree with that when referring to property taxes, I'm not sure how they get the income taxes. What is their reasoning for all taxes being illegal?

Tea Party says "Screw it, we're our own party now!"

This will be interesting to watch. This is almost exactly how the Republican party formed from the Whigs.

I love where I live because....

Bingo. I grew up in Columbia (Northeast specifically) and couldn't wait to get out of there. The bookends of the state seem to have much better scenery and things to do than the Midlands. You should spend a weekend or two in Greenville There's a good chance you'd enjoy it.

I love South Carolina. Sorry you don't GS. What part do you live in? Between the Upstate, Midlands and the Low Country the area can change so much.
