Hell I see this getting bigger financially than Pokemon even! "Oh hey Game-freak, you know how you sell people two games? Well we sell 36 memory cards to our fans! You have fun being small though." This is the cockyness I would assume of whoever is in charge or Skylanders in the future.

Man, why do major developers hate making decent games with beloved franchises? Capcom and Sega consistently shit all over themselves.
Sega is actually doing better with Sonic. Sonic Colors was pretty great.
Capcom though? Capcom doesn't know what it's doing... RE6 sold copies but it got blasted in the reviews.

I actually quite liked RE6 overall, but the gameplay is crazy unpolished, even though there's tons of content for a shooter (each SP campaign is around 8-12 hours long, depending on skill, and there are 4, and then there's Mercenaries)

- Always, always, fucking always tripping over bodies, even though you would expect elite solider types walking through a city looking for zombies to shoot would not constantly trip over individual bodies on the ground.
- The game is irritatingly and inconsistently granular; you can blind your partner with your flashlight, and need to actually make your own first aid items to use any of them, but you can't preemptively blow the heads off of corpses before they get up
- FoV is a little painful; it feels overly tight, and your guy fills the wrong parts of the screen frequently enough to be irritating.
Yeah, I figured someone would bring up Colors, which I hear is great but I didn't get to play. Generations was a blast, though. Problem is they're really the only two good ones since at least Adventure.
True, but Generations and Colors have also been the most recent releases. They just need to keep it up.
Agreed, I'd love to see more quality Sonic games. I don't think they'll ever be on par with Mario again, but Generations really was a solid game.
Capcom has pretty much abandoned the franchises I care about (Mega Man and Breath of Fire), so I've got no hope there.

Megaman hasn't been abandoned so much as it's been brutally murdered to get back at his dad.

They've actually pretty much removed Spyro entirely from the franchise. They've all but admitted that the reason that he was attached in the first place was just for name recognition. One look at the Spyro figure itself pretty much tells you that they didn't have any intention of that actually representing Spyro.
Interestingly, they are putting in other characters from the Spyro series as figures... so no, they are apparently putting some weight behind it.

Loved them. That's one of the reasons I don't know why I don't love it.
What I wouldn't give for a game that let me build things out of a library of all past and present lego pieces...

Yeah, but only Cynder from what I've read. And that was only from the most recent franchise! Don't mean to knock the "Legend of Spyro" series since I've never played it but it still irks me. Do you know if at least Hunter is gonna be in it? He was funny.
I guess EVE's right out, then? I've fallen into it, and am loving the sandbox, whereas previously I hated it.
I couldn't get into EVE so I guess it falls into that category for me.
Someone needs to make a Sand-box game, where the world is just a giant sand-box. And people would make religions based on the great pale or shovel or whatever. Imagine a sillier version of Fall-out 3. In fact...I'm taking this. COPYRIGHT YOSHIMICKSTER 2012!
I got a good month of playtime with Minecraft and later Terraria, but it gets to a point where you've built the cool stuff and the interest fades.
