That's pretty much my feeling. I also felt the wolves themselves could have been replaced with any other sort of man-eating animal and it wouldn't have made a huge difference. It was fairly clear who was going to die and how.
At the end
when the alpha wolf had his final showdown with Liam, I thought 'Ah finally, time for the 'boss fight'. I love Neeson and his acting ability, but the story and the wolves didn't sell it for me and even Liam's character's "I hunt wolves for a living so I know all about wolves" thing even seemed a little shoehorned in.

Pretty funny. Unsurprisingly for a Morgan Spurlock doc, it meanders and doesn't really tackle one specific aspect of the subject matter for too long or arrive at any decisive point. It's more entertainment than documentary. Enjoyable though.
Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?
I purposely avoided this one when it came out, because it seemed like he was just trying to be "shocking?" and "edgy" and not taking a serious subject seriously. But, since I recently saw The Greatest Movie Ever Sold, and Mansome, I decided it was time to finally give this a shot. And I have to say, it's not the movie I thought it was. It's actually probably Morgan Spurlock's best. He actually examines the issue, the focus isn't just where's Osama Bin Laden, but what are the actual root causes of the problems in the middle east, what drives people to terrorism, and what can we do to fix it. There is undoubtedly better documentaries on the subject out there, ones that are more shocking and less one sided, but I think Morgan Spurlock does a good job injecting a bit of humour into it while still taking it seriously.

Still not a fan of the creepy-uncanny valley-design, but the story was fun, and the animation was surprisingly lively and fluid considering it's motion capture. I was impressed.

I Re-watched "The Incredibles" yesterday. NO CAPES!
Dredd was alright. I, conversely, don't get the big praise it got from some people as a 'great' action movie. Also, it had the worst 3D I've ever seen. And I've seen a lot of 3D movies since I'm a sucker and hoard RealD glasses to sneak into shitty 3D movies. It was only in... maybe 5 scenes of the whole movie. The rest, the effect wasn't even on - i.e. I could take off the glasses and everything was clear. So fucking lazy and bad. I would have been livid if I paid 3D prices.
Looper was AMAZING. So highly recommended.

The Raid: Redemption had the exact same plot, and had more memorable characters and scenes and MUCH better action sequences. Also less cartoon CGI blood (although I have to admit I was impressed there wasn't TOO much in Dredd).
Cabin in the Woods: This movie is very meta and hilarious, if you like that sort of thing. Really plays with expectations.
Oh jeez, I've never even heard of that. Looking it up, Dredd seems kind of shameless.
South-Park Bigger Longer and Uncut: Rewatched it yesterday. My favorite song was Satan's because its just fucking hilarious how the most sympathetic song in the movie is for the damn prince of darkness.
I'm 0% claiming they stole the idea. It's a really generic idea (Raid probably wasn't the first time), but it's just seeing them in th same year / few months makes comparisons more... like. blatant / easy to make
I just watched it the other day. It was great to see the guy from Dollhouse again (to lazy to look up his name) and the movie was very, very entertaining. the last 30 minutes was insanely cool.
I think that there is a new term that should be used for this movie:
Chekhov's whiteboard.
Just saw Looper. Much better than I was expecting, and all in all I really enjoyed it. It's not just an action flick, the story's pretty well put-together considering how easy it is to fuck up time travel.
This is one of my favourite movies of all time.

This is still my favorite James Bond movie, hands down. I grew up watching this movie and still love it to this day. I get that the action is...pretty hilarious by todays standards, but I enjoy it just the same.

Carrying on Octoberfest, we watched this movie on the recommendation from my husbands co-worker. I think..that was a mistake. I honestly wasn't a fan of this movie at all. I felt like it tried to be everything at once and failed; It wanted to be a fantasy horror movie, and a true scary movie, and a campy horror movie, and a slasher/gore horror movie. It just..didn't do it for me.
And the fat kid throwing up chocolate was one of the most nasty things I've ever seen.
This is still my favorite James Bond movie, hands down. I grew up watching this movie and still love it to this day. I get that the action is...pretty hilarious by todays standards, but I enjoy it just the same.

I understand nostalgia and I understand an emotional attachment to a movie, but you are the only person (myself included) I've seen not call Thunderball their least favorite Bond movie of all time.

Wife was gooned on cheap wine while we watched this so to her, it is the greatest movie of all time with the greatest soundtrack of all time. The tunes are catchy, yes. Tom Cruise is definitely not playing a Tom Cruise character. Everything else is kinda snoozy.

This could have been so much better than a police procedural starring Edgar Allen Poe, but that's what it was.

Tomorrow never dies is absolutely awful... I would much rather watch Quantum of Solace than that pile of filth...
Really? I thought it was campy deliciousness. The scene with the father and the son was just fun all around.

I think QoS had the capacity to be a better movie with an actual script instead of making shit up in the middle of the writers strike. Unfortunately the director and Daniel Craig were the only ones who could change scenes and writing isn't easy.
The script really wasn't even the worst part of QoS, it was one of the worst-shot action movies I've ever seen.
Oh, no argument there. It's strange, Marc Foster is no stranger to great directing, but not action obviously.

I think this is one of the best Halloween movies out there. My interpretation of it was basically, it's kids telling scary stories, like Are You Afraid of the Dark, or Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror. THe shifting tones make perfect sense and it does a great job of capturing the spirit of Halloween in a way that most straight up horror films don't. I love it.
