[Other] The not so funny pic thread (some NSFL or gore)

Maybe it's a quick connect for liquids? Maybe it wasn't intentional? Maybe my farts smell like sunshine?

Obviously this gentleman is making the best of a bad situation, attempting to turn a permanent "braces through bottom lip" injury into a fashion statement.

I saw that one the other day, GB. Still wondering how, if it's real, they thought they would get away with that.

The bike one was real. It was on the news fairly recently.

I can just about hear that guy softly singing "Stayin' Alive" to himself

Wow. Bravo to that group taking something out of theological and cultural context and using it to stoke racial issues. Classy.

Except that it was an exact quote from a book that some claim is flawless and does not need updating. Even some of the political candidates in the "race" right now believe that.

I can't help stupid people. They will always be stupid. I'm as embarrassed by the people you speak of as I am of the idiots who put that billboard up. The belief that one needs no cultural and/or theological context to understand ancient texts (whether it be the Bible, the Quran or hell, even Shakespeare) is both shockingly ignorant and often dangerous. Imposing modern, western thought on texts written in other times for other people doesn't work, no matter how much one desires. That goes for both sides.

Usually the same folk (on their 3rd marriage) who rally against homosexuals while ignoring that adultery is usually right next to or even in the same verse condemning it.

The biggest problem I have with the billboard is that it was in a neighborhood that was low income and very, very skewed to the African American demographic. It wasn't as much the message but the picture. Kids don't read or know the message but they know enough to ask when they see a black guy in a metal collar. This, to me, is JUST as offensive as the abortion protesters holding up signs with bloody fetuses.
