Just made some of the Flamin' Hot Cheetos mac & cheese for me & Zach. While it's nothing special it is exactly what the box describes. The ONLY difference between the actual Flamin' Hot Cheetos & this mac & cheese is that the mac & cheese version is HOTTER than the Cheetos from the bag.

Zach really liked it and I thought it was just okay. But if you drop any of this on you you're not going to have a good time. It is a dark, dark red color and will stain anything.
You’re braver than me. Hopefully it’s as good coming out as it is going down.
I might have to pick some up for my daughter though.

Problem is your big online retailer is buying these games from the manufacturer in much bigger numbers than your FLGS, so they can negotiate a bulk discount. Then when you buy from Amazon (or whoever) they get your money straight away while they don't get an invoice from the manufacturer until the end of the month, then leave that bill until the last moment before paying so they can be earning interest on your purchase for up to 2 months before they pay the manufacturer - more if you preordered!

End result is Amazon can sell these board games for cheaper than your FLGS is paying the manufacturer for them - and sometimes cheaper than Amazon themselves are paying the manufacturer - and still turn a profit! Your local bricks and mortar shop cannot compete on price like that.
Yeah, I'm just sad about this economic reality.

For some, this might be a minor victory. For some, an epic win.

I haven't eaten pizza since moving out here. So I got Dominos for lunch. They evidently have this promotion where 1 in 14 orders gets a freebie--I won lava cake.

I'm diabetic, and don't like chocolate cake. So, it's just random crap. I kinda wish they'd let me know in advance what they were bringing me, so I could tell them not to waste the food by just having me throw it away when it got here :(

Perfect opportunity to go meet some new neighbors or something, no?

I watched a movie and played on my phone. I couldn't just come downstairs because we don't yet fully trust the pup to not chew everything into oblivion. Last time we left her alone she got a $100 hair curler/dryer and my Fitbit Versa 3.

That picture is a damned lie. For starters, our house is not that good. Second - and I can't stress this enough - I do NOT wear button down shirts with tighty whiteys. Or, for that matter, tighty whiteys AT ALL.

Okay so I have a quandary.

I have 4 interviews this week. I just had the first. It pays $20 an hour + commission, but is NOT outside sales AT ALL. It's delivering items and upselling to current clients and keeping them stocked. The second would be $20 an hour delivering Frito-Lay products. Which sounds like a blast to me, frankly. The third pays $50k a year and would be doing operations in a factory/warehouse. Monitoring and measuring safety levels in tanks, things like that. The last one pays $70k a year and would put me back into a cubicle doing IT stuff.

I get home from my interview - which I thought went really well - and I have a job offer from the USPS as a processing clerk. I'd be the guy who processes your mail and does stuff at the front counter. I have 3 days to accept or decline.

So here's my thing. The postal job only pays $18.69 an hour, but it's an offer. I don't HAVE any of the other jobs yet, even though I think I'm going to get an offer from at least the one I did today.

Thoughts? Should I accept and go through the background check and stuff knowing full well I might not take the job? I feel kinda discomfited doing that.

Tell them you’re interested, but the pay is less than you were looking for, and need to weigh some options. Let them know you will let them know before the 3 days are up.

Maybe it’ll get them to up the pay, if not you have a few days to wait for a response from the others.

Whenever I've been out of work and needed a job, I've been in this same position: Less than ideal job came up while others were on the horizon.

If one seems to be a sure thing, I have always agreed to it, knowing in the back of my mind that one of the better possibilities may come up. I don't lose much sleep over it, because I know most employers aren't loyal to their employees any longer. I've been strung along for 3 weeks and gone on 14 interviews for a company, being told "they love you" the whole time, only to lose the job to someone else at the end. So, I really don't care if I string a company along while something better may be developing.

In the end, you have to take care of you. And if the USPS job is a sure thing, it's the only real position in front of you. All of the others may pan out, or may not. And if they do, you can call USPS and say "Sorry, something better came along." When I was hiring at my last job, I had that happen a few times...you shrug and move on to the next candidate.

Everything for the USPS is impersonal and done online through links. So I absolutely CAN'T do that. I have to accept or decline without speaking to anyone.

I've been a manager and done a lot of hiring - if I were the guy who offered you the job, I'd just like you to be up-front with me. "Hey, I want this job, but I have been at some other interviews, and salary is a consideration." I get it, it's no big deal. Happy to have you if you join, cool with you looking out for you and famjam if you get a better offer.

I guess I'd look at as if you got a job paying $15/hr today, and without having other interviews, some amazing benefactor or old employer shows up and says, hey, I'll hire you for $30/hr. Of course you'd take that job. Is it frustrating I've filled out all this paperwork for you? Yeah, but so what? That's my job.

If it was a small mom-and-pop company who you might string along, you know, it's perfectly normal to feel a bit icky about that.
Since it's a huge corporation who cares so little for you you literally can't talk to a human being about it, wait 'till the third day, accept it, and be 100% willing to walk away the moment something better comes along.

Fuck, normally I wouldn't care but I literally bought like 25 dollars worth of good salami today (That is a product of the US) because I've basically been living off of onion buns, salami and sub sauce.

I don't want to cook my salami until it's well done, God damn it.
