Random Video Game Crap

So, Valve's 1000+ dollar VR Kit has been at the top of the best selling list since it was put up on Steam for sale.

The top sellers are based on revenue, not units sold, or so I've heard. So one $1,000 Index sale is worth twenty-five $40 Halo Master Chief Collection sales. I'm not sure if that fully explains it, but it does bring it closer to the realm of possibility, at least.

That makes sense I guess. Would HATE for some cheaper indie game that sold a bunch of units to be on the same list as the PRESTIGIOUS AAA game of the month THAT MUST BE PLAYED.

PS: Checked the list today and it's nowhere to be found. I still feel that it's top spot is fishy as fuck.

Sorry, I'm just being needlessly snarky.

Actually, the Steam controller is probably selling pretty crazy right now due to the sale, does it/will it show up on best selling? Possibly data point for Pez's explanation.

EDIT: but that is sorted by "Relevance", there is no way to sort by "top selling" or anything. Just name, release date, highest/lowest price, etc.

I've heard so much good about that game, but seeing clips really just drives home how much they're not using lightsabers but glowsticks.

This is sort of a problem with blasters depicted in Star Wars games in general too? I shoot a stormtrooper in the chest, I expect him to go down in a single shot. If I actually HIT a Jedi or Sith, I expect it to do something... but I beat Arcann in SWTOR last night and I shot him like a billion times with my Agent's rifle and he just powers through it. So ether Star Wars games need to start operating on Counter-Strike rules or we have to admit that it's all kind of bullshit.

It's not like I'm shooting fucking Mandos in Beskar here. These are guys in basic armor and ROBES.

Those are some pretty impressive hair physics for a rhythm shooting simulator.

As all these games are based on the unity engine, it's really more of a question of how long the author of the model spent on making the model do that. That's the exact same anime girl model this youtuber uses when she's playing beat saber.

My models have hair physics too /pout
