What are you playing?

Played PUBG tonight...AND I GOT 2ND PLACE IN DUOS!

Best I've ever done and no, I was not being carried. I got several kills and did better than the experienced person that I was with. It was glorious. No chicken dinner yet, though.

Been playing a lot of Pathfinder: Kingmaker. Love that game although it *IS* hard. In the first area I walked into a clearing and there was a FUCKING MANEATING TROLL! Yeah, I was 2nd level. I tried it once because why not? After that I just ran.

Definitive proof that PUBG as a game, is dying

:awesome:

Oh, and I tried DBFighterZ last night... pretty neat so far. I like how they've mixed new stuff in with moves from previous DBZ games going back all the way to the SNES games.

But it really doesn't feel like a true Dragonball Z game without beam struggles.

So I beat the Stag Lord last night in Pathfinder. Holy shit that was a hard fight, until I did a sneaky to let loose a thing in the courtyard (not specifying because of spoilers). And after that....the game kind of changes. Now it's a kingdom sim as well as an adventure RPG and I'm not sure I like that. I have to build houses & do diplomacy, etc. It's like they tacked on a Facebook game. I'm playing it again soon and hope that it grows on me.

The annual Halloween Event has started for Killing Floor 2, and it's brought a new map with it. I've updated my KF2 server... if anybody's down to try it out, just give me a shout.

Re-playing Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning on the PS3 again while I'm sick, and it still holds up. Still pretty, still good quests, still fun.
It's also apparently a fall game for me. All my save files are late Aug-early Nov, just different years.
Bonus: the IP for the game has recently been liberated from its previous owner, so new material may eventually happen. Yay!

Still having a blast with MTG Arena. Been playing a lot of the events, managed to go six wins in sealed, getting back all the gems I paid to enter and getting 18 packs in the process, and have been doing great grinding the constructed event. Here you can see the last turn of win number 7, giving me max reward

So I figured out how to host my own streaming RTMP server on my machine, and using it as an intermediary, I've been able to combine multiple streams into one. Thus, when Dei and I play Stardew Valley, I can now set us up to show both our screens in the same stream.

It's a little laggy (there's like a six second delay on her screen, and semi-frequent artifacting/rebuffering), but it's pretty good considering it basically has no system resource overhead whatsoever.

Potentially, I could do this with as many players as we have in any game, so long as everybody's using OBS. I wish I'd known how to do this back when we were all playing that massive Halforums game of Don't Starve Together.

Is that in addition to what you got for 6 wins? 5 wins, etc?
No, you collect after you lose 3 times (or reach 7 wins)

If you have even a half decent deck, constructed event is a better way to spend your gold than buying packs. 500 gold enters you (a pack is 1000) and even if you don't win a single game, you'll still get 3 cards that are guaranteed to be at least uncommon.

I've been the scourge of sealed. I can't count how many times I have opened Thief of Sanity in my pool.

I generally go 5+ now but I don't understand the ranking system. I will crawl up to the point of ranking up only to have someone like 3 or 4 ranks above me win and erase all the progress I've made. 1 loss kills the momentum of like 5-6 victories.

The ragequits when I've landed my second or third Thief hit are beautiful. They always timeout concede out of spite but it fuels meeeee.

@Snuffleupagus and I tried to do the "endless hard Monster Ball" objective for the halloween event in Killing Floor 2 last night. Two attempts both failed on wave 24 (and you had to finish wave 25 to finish the objective >_<), at a cost of about 85 minutes per attempt. Frustrating, but fun. I plan to keep trying.

(pertinent section starts about an hour in, Snuffles joins about the 2 hour or so mark)

So I was playing some Assassin's Creed Odyssey because I'm in the Google Project Stream beta, and only two hours in I'm bored because I feel like I'm playing generic_open_world_rpg_01. I also got 1000 free credits, which are all you can use for the stream version and I dumped it straight into an xp boost per every review I've seen. I would totally not be playing this on principle if I wasn't doing so for free.

Also, Project Steam works really well on my PC that has an Ethernet connection. I think I'll try it on my laptop that could never run this game in a million years while on wifi later. :p

Playing a lot of PUBG lately. I think I'm getting a little better but who can really tell? No chicken dinner yet but I'm having a lot of fun. I started watching a guy play today that was consistently in the top 5 with duos and had 3 chicken dinners while I was watching. Jesus. Okay, I'm not getting better.

PUBG solos tonight. My first two games I got 6th place...and 2nd! Guy with a ghillie suit, level 3 helmet and a level 3 vest got me. I hit him a few times as he was jumping on me from above, but his shit was more powerful than mine. Still. SECOND!! I played like 10 games and the worst I did was in the 50s and that was because I dropped where there was nothing and had to try and push with a pump action shotgun.

In which Dei has caught a legendary fish...

... and accidentally throws it in the dumpster because it looks like a mundane fish.

Final Fantasy 15 is so fucking weird.

What follows is some shit I just made up.

Square Enix Executive (SEE): Hello folks in charge of FF15, how are things going?

FF15 Guy: Well, we hired 12 top chefs from around the world to cook 1200 different dishes that my team of 100 modellers, photographers and texture guys will painstakingly render in perfect realism. Never before will food look so good in a video game.

SEE: INCREDIBLE! How long do you expect this process to take?

FF15G: At least 9 years. 10 tops.

SEE: Amazing, hopefully the budget will be enormous and unrecoupable.

FF15G: Ha ha, boss you're such a kidder. We wouldn't do it any other way here at Square Enix Japan.

Been playing Town of Salem the last few nights. I'm hopelessly addicted.
It's a game of wits, not twitch muscles.

A bunch of random people are assigned to Salem. Each person has a random "role" (jailor, serial killer, mafia, etc), along with a goal (serial killer: Kill everyone. Mafia, kill people until you are a town majority, townspeople--kill all the baddies).

Nobody knows anyone's role, so it becomes a game of deduction (if you're a townie) or guile and wits (if you're a baddie) to win. There are two phases: Night phase--where baddies kill and certain townies have powers (lookout watches houses, jailor jails and interrogates) and day phase everyone votes on someone to lynch.

There's a minute chat window before lynch occurs where all players can chat and point fingers. And while it's tempting to just say "I'm the jailor" or "I'm the sherrif" that might target you for the serial killer or mafia during the next night phase. And there are some roles (jester, executioner) that have an incentive to lie and get themselves killed, or point the finger at the wrong person.

The intrigue has been really fun
