Voted. Apparently declining your ballot isn't a thing anymore, so I held my nose and voted for what I thought was least objectionable.

I need a shower. With acid. And Bleach. And whatever else. I feel dirty. They're ALL either crooks, or outright reckless/idiots. :(
What? Dammit, I was planning on declining my ballot too.

They looked it up in front of me, and showed me the parts of the instructions about what can happen to a ballot, and it's just not there. If somebody objects to the process, leaves it blank, or any other objection, it is now recorded as a spoiled ballot.

I know it sucks.

Both the Conservatives and the Liberals are gung-ho about the TPP and they both backed C-51. That left me with one choice.

I voted for an independent.

At least it's a guarantee that whoever ends up PM will do so with a minority, which is best for all of us right now I think.

I feel like if there's another Conservative victory, majority or no, it will solidify the left in the next election. So, long-term, maybe the left should be pro-Harper for this election :D

That was said in the last election too. There's no 'solidifying' the left. Every campaign since he got in, it's been "Dump Steve!" Maybe it'll happen this year, but at best I think we'll just get a minority Conservative government. And people will point to polls saying "But the poll said X% Liberal!" forgetting that the polls talked about votes nationwide, and not in particular ridings - which don't appear to be swinging as much as people want them to be. I think Quebec is the real key factor this time around - we'll see if the orange crush continues or get replaces with Coke.

Since from all reports, the Liberals are winning, my hope right now is the NDP wins a minority. Since the two parties share a lot of the same values, I think some real change could happen that way.

Sadly, I get the feeling the Conservatives will have at least a minority win tonight. Hopefully, that's the extent of it.

I still would have loved to have seen Jack Leighton as our Prime Minister last time. Sadly, in this election there is no one that I truly believe in and its more of a Anyone but Harper thing.

Well, so far, of the 33 seats that have been elected, they've all gone Liberal. That's a heckuva head start, but not all that surprising.

That number just went to 34.

sounds about right. I doubt there will be much of a change in my riding, pretty much guaranteed to follow Harper off the cliff.

Their website has a good real time map. I was using the CTV one, but it doesn't differentiate between leading and called.

It's looking mighty red so far.

Holy shit, the Peace region (my old timey Northern Alberta riding) is leading NDP. That's fucking bananas. Northern rural Alberta going orange?

He seems like the sore loser type. I bet he would think of it as one final take that to leave and force us to have an expensive by-election.
