To be fair, it's the Sun. They would be surprised if you covered your OWN eyes, then uncovered them and went "Boo!".
Also if you're going to shit talk, why shit talk the Leafs? It's like picking on a disabled kid, you bully.

Now I don't doubt that people down there where ever that line is like hockey but are they aware we dedicate 5 television channels and 64 sports analysts to discuss that fact that no trades are occurring during trade deadline day and what this actually means, and in order to separate one channel from the next lamas, monkeys and octopuses are given air time based upon their precognitive abilities, and this seemingly never ending waste of time money and resources actually generates revenue? I want you to imagine if you flipped ESPN upside down and for every mention football, baseball and basketball you talked about hockey, that's what our media is like.
At least my Toronto Rock have clinched a playoff spot.

Long ago and far away, the Rock were winning and every other team in TO was losing. Saw an American comedian at a comic show and he started to slag lacrosse, could have heard a pin drop.
If nit for the recent success of the Raptors, thats still more or less the case but still no one cares. basically no one follows lacrosse and I really dont understand why. Its fun as hell. Everyone who lives in a city with a box lacrosse team: go check it out its fucking awesome. I dont know about field lacrosse though. Maybe its cool. Its definitely fun to play.
Lots of people have realized that. The problem is that season tickets are already sold out for the next 20 years or so.
It was actually only last week that the Leafs DIDN'T sell out, and had record low attendance ( around 15,000 iirc). The media is having a field day with that. It does seem like we may finally have reached a tipping point.

I made a proposition on a hockey-exclusive message board (ironically, with the same initials as HalForums) that would affect "tanking". Basically, after the trade deadline, the bottom 14 non-playoff teams would be ranked, 14 to 1, with points. Every time they won, one of the points would be deducted. At the end, the team would get the number of points they had left deducted from their "ping pong ball" chances at the #1 overall pick.
I don't know if it would go over well with the NHL GM's, though.

Boston basically has to hope Pittsburgh doesn't win the next two nights, which is impossible since the Pens face Buffalo Saturday.
And I'm trying to figure this out, but would Winnipeg face the Ducks in the first round, even if Saint Louis claims 1st overall in the Western Conference?

I was wrong about one thing: Winnipeg will not necessarily face Anaheim regardless. If Saint Loo takes the RS conference title, they would face Winnipeg while either Minnesota or Chicago would cross over and play Anaheim.
And I'm sorry, but if the Pens can't beat Buffalo, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs.
