Minor victory thread

Occupation: IT/Production Director, Profeshunal yootubar
I had to claim google ad income on a Sched C long before I started making author money.
I don't make much with them anymore--well under the $600 threshold for reporting purposes. But I still claim them, because then I get to deduct all of the related service fees (hosting, domain registration, etc) as a business expense.

It's official, I just got paid $194.38 because of my youtube channel.

You uploaded directly to halforums, which has a maximum resolution and thus lowers/compresses their size, reducing details.

You might try hosting on another site, such as imgur, and pasting the pictures here.

You might try and save it as .PNG also. A .PNG file has better detail retention/less artifacting (though they tend to be larger).
Anything that has lots of transitions (bright things right next to dark things, black letters on white backgrounds, etc.) is probably better served by .PNG instead of .JPG.

Imgur also compresses files. Maximum file size is 20 MB, and then the level of compression is based on user type:

Anonymous gets compressed down to 1 MB
People with user accounts get compressed to 5 MB
Pro accounts get compressed to 10 MB

I got a second job. It's only one shift a week, but it's for more money doing pretty much the same job I already do, at a closer location. It might also be a useful foot in the door there. And I'm not losing anything at the current job.

Interesting. If I put ads back on here I could totally do this!

(I won't. I like the place ad free even if I don't get my $75 a month from revenue.)

Nah. Now that we're on the new host I pay once every 3 months and it's STILL less than I paid monthly before.

I finally got to bring my car home from work! It's been sitting there since the week before Christmas because every time I drove it I was getting light headed, dizzy, and feeling like I was going to pass out, which just isn't good at all for driving. Well, my diabetes is much more under control now, I don't have weird problems with my vision (got my eyes tested), my heart and lungs are healthy and clear (got those tested), etc. etc. etc. My car was (and still is a little bit) just absolutely filthy. I suspect black mold has made its way from the shitty old apartment I used to live in to the car, and bloomed over time. I'm fine driving it with the windows down, or with the windows up, if the windows have previously been down all day to allow the car to air out.
