The Undisputed Unified Wrestling Thread

There needs to be wrestler literally based on the $9.99 idea, lol. I can already see it - a headbutt finisher called the 'Subscription' and a signature move called the 'Sign-Up Now', maybe the boston crab or something. xD

"And who're you, chump?"
"I'm only $9.99 with all the content you need!"

I think you just wrote Damien Sandow's next gimmick.

OMG this is huge! I can't believe they announced it before hand! This is a major scoop for the WWE to land an actual A-List celebrity (screw you Miz) to host RAW! And the final live show before Survivor Series even!

Can you smeeeelllllll what
Grumpy Cat is cooking!

I would've imagined at some point they would've capitalized on Batista being in Guardians of the Galaxy for a special Marvel Night Raw with Stan Lee on commentary, maybe even revealing Michael Cole is secretly Ant Man.

That wish did not come, and I am disappoint. :I

lol, grumpy cat... how low can they go...

CM Punk was on Colt Cabana's podcast and basically laid bare every reason why he's no longer with the WWE. The website is getting absolutely hammered right now.

Spoiler alert if you don't have the time or the inclination to listen to the podcast.

Basically every reason ever given is why he left, pay concerns over the Network, unhappiness over story lines and most importantly, his health.
He had a concussion and what would end up being a staph infection that the WWE doctor's refused to treat because he'd be out of action.
He left to get treatment, had his royalty checks suspended and was fired officially on his wedding day.
Will never return because of that.

Here's a full recap of the interview.

My thoughts?
Wow. Just...just wow. It's unbelievable how much people (aka Vince and HHH) have their heads so stuck up their own asses now that they are actively ruining their own business in the process. Worse, they think what they're doing is for the best.

You have Vince, who is clearly out of touch with the fanbase and Triple H, who is not only sounding like the most insecure man in the business, but also with the most power these days. It's unbelievable that they forced Punk to turn heel while he was selling more shirts than Cena. They'll actively bury whoever is getting over because it's not who THEY want over.

The only reason they pushed Bryan into WrestleMania is because if they didn't, they were risking full-scale riots from the fanbase. THAT'S how fucked up WWE is right now: it takes nothing short of a full-scale riot from the fanbase in order for them to change their goddamn minds.
It's no wonder I can't even stomach watching it anymore. I don't even watch what's probably good stuff like NXT. I've become so apathetic towards watching the product and it's shit like this that does it.

My first inclination was wanting to cancel my WWE Network sub, but I'm dumb and like watching the old school stuff a lot. Also I guess I'm morally okay with $10/mo for th PPVs. But shit, wrestling is scummy

I think the borderline illegal shit the carny level doctors they employ pull is the worst thing.

That's Haitch and Stephanie receiving some award for helping to solve the concussion crisis in athletes.

I mean, they fucking had him as number one in the Royal Rumble with an active MRSA infection. They might as well have been bareback gang-banging an AIDS riddled prostitute, that would have been less dangerous. No wonder he spent most of the Rumble huddled in the corner.

New Day might actually the most racially insensitive gimmick the WWE has ever saddled almost every black guy in it's roster with. Dancing black guys, Vince must be laughing his ass off every time they come out.

The opening lyrics to their theme.

"Stop lookin' for who you gotta blame,
Let it go, it's not worth the pain.
Give the world a fresh coat of paint,
Lookin' in the mirror is who you gotta change."

They jobbed on their first match on Raw as a faction.

The Vince/Stone Cold interview was pretty telling how out of touch he is. Blaming the lack of new stars on them all being unmotivated millenials. Yeah, guys who spend 300 days of the year on the road with your company with zero competition to fall back on where even the slightest perception of a slight when you aren't in a power position gets you fucked over sounds really motivating.
