The EPIC WIN Thread 3: SON OF EPIC

I'm with you, man. The beer you grow up with stays with you. I'll always have a soft spot for Stroh's even though it's now made by some suck-ass-crap factory owned by Pabts.
I most definitely do not stick with the beers of my youth (they were Honey Brown and MGD). Probably because most of what I remember about them are hangovers and how they taste coming back out. These days, I'm perfectly happy with cheap, unpretentious Bud Light.

I'm not much of a beer drinker. I have my tastes like Sleeman's, Kokanee Gold, etc. but I am a pretty big wine snob.

The beer of my youth, I was 5 and had irresponsible uncles God bless them, was Miller. I was so damn happy when it came back a couple of years ago. Now there is a cheap beer that tastes like real beer.

Now that I have more disposable income, I'll be drinking more Shiner products.

Is this real?

That means I kept my promise! We agreed I would send you a girl for out-sourcing purposes. So, you're welcome.

All jokes aside, I'm very excited for you!  Sending all the hearts your way.

Well, if you saw my post in the Whine thread, you saw that I couldn't sleep because my brain suddenly decided to go into creative overdrive.

So I got up and started typing in some of these ideas. But as the ideas started running dry, I still felt compelled to work on this idea. So on a whim, I messaged good 'ol @Cheesy1 on Facebook to pick his brain.

Almost two hours later and not only did we come up with really great ideas together, but also really fleshed out what I'd already worked on. That man has a great brain to pick, I tell ya. He'll be getting top billing in the acknowledgements should I manage to finish this book. And at the very least, a signed copy. :)

Might try writing the first few chapters tomorrow and see where it takes me. In the meantime, I'm going back to bed.

And the Epic Wins just keep hitting for me.

I've been exhausted the past few days from work. As a result, I was too tired to do the 50-minute long DDP Yoga work out, The Diamond Cutter. Every time I do this work out, I'm literally dripping with sweat by the end. Well, I just made up for it today (Sunday). And even better?

Well, quick explanation: in most of the DDP Yoga work outs, they do these slow burn push ups. Most work outs, they're 3-seconds. Starting in plank, you lower slowly for three seconds, then hold for 3 seconds in a low plank, push back up for 3, lower for 3, and then hold for 3.

In the Diamond Cutter, they do several of these, which I can do now. Halfway through, he introduces FIVE second push ups, which I can do now. Near the end, though? Right at the end, when I'm nearly exhausted? A TEN SECOND push up. That's lowering from plank for TEN, hold for TEN, push up for TEN, lower for TEN, then hold for TEN.

For the first time ever, I was able to do the full 10-second push up without collapsing halfway through or near the end! For half of it, I was even in full plank (the lower, hold, and push). The second half, I had to go to my knees (lower, then hold).

BUT I DID IT.

BANG!!

My employers have finally paid for my moving expenses (3 months after the fact), and the cheque didn't even bounce.
The line of credit where the charges went has been entirely paid off because they also paid for the interest incurred because of the delay.
I am shocked. Generally speaking boards are painfully stingy when it comes to reimbursing staff, but these folks, while slow, have been generously just. So, woo!

I'm not sure what's more surprising to me: that pink Floyd is still together and releasing an album, or that the people in pink Floyd are still alive

I hope I'll be posting here tomorrow. I'll know the result of my 4 month legal battle with my previous employer in China tomorrow. Pro tip: If you thought dealing with legal issues in your own country/language is difficult, try it in another country, or, don't, because I never want to have to do that again.
