Whine like a baby, now with 500% more drama!

I don't think I could be more whine-y than I am today;

I feel so sick and tired (I had to crawl from my bed to the couch because I feel so drained, I couldn't even walk), but I'm so hungry. I would just run to the store to get something, but I don't think I'm..awake enough to do so. UGH, food. And sleep! I'm so tired....

Hopefully it passes quickly, I don't want to be poorly on Christmas. :(

I say just give them the dental plan and they'll get back to work. It will cost you more in the long run to let the strike persist.
Listen, you give them dental, and they'll just learn that they can strike any time to get what they want. No, you handle this like you handle toddlers throwing a tantrum. Ignore them, and they'll either learn to fall in line, or go find new parents. In this metaphor, the parents are...

...

I don't actually have kids.

Wnet to sleept at 11:30pm yesterday. Couldn't sleep. Fell asleep somewhere around 00:30 am. Woke up around 01:30 am when my girlfriend got into bed. Had a not-quite-migraine splitting headache. Didn't sleep a wink after that, headache persists. Had to get up at 4:40 am to go to work at 5:30 am. Was 5 minutes late because of storm weather. I'm stuck here at work with barely-functional computer and software that simply doesn't work because IT's closed on the 24th. Got here, found out there's a shipment of 3 20kg boxes of T-shirts (are they lead lined? I don't know, but they're ridiculously heavy - it's only 500 shirts!) that I somehow have to get to my GF's work.
When I'll finally get off work, I can go home...where I'll have to put up the Christmas decoration, the freshly-cleaned curtains, set the table, and start chopping up and stuff for dinner - fondue with my parents-in-law. Ah yes, they're coming over. What a lovely time we'll all have. Did I mention the still-continuing headache and the lack of sleep? That dinner's going to go great.
Ugh. Fifth year in a row I work on my birthday, and it still hasn't gotten any better. Screw the "people with children get priority for taking off on Christmas Eve, Day or New Year's Day"' regulation.

I don't want to spend christmas with my wife's parents! I prefer to be working if I'm not able to spend some time only with my little family.

Just brainstorming a bit here -- next year, resort to kidnapping. And when someone objects to *that*, tell them that you are a disciple of Krampus and they are persecuting your religion.

I've run into that so many times.

"Well, we gave her all of the days off because she has kids."

Yeah? Well I don't, which makes my free time far more productive and enjoyable!

*please don't hurt me, parents of the board

I think it's a nice gesture, but all of the days off? That's a bit unnecessary, IMO. Maybe my perspective is skewed since my husband has missed many of these special days due to his job. I'm used to it.

I got to spend most of Christmas Day with a splitting headache that took away my appetite and just made me feel like crap while I was awake. Had to cancel our plans to go see The Hobbit this evening because I wouldn't have stayed awake through it. I woke up yesterday at 3:15am and didn't get to bed until 1am Christmas Morning, was woken up around 3am by a clock that I didn't even know had an alarm (or even made noise) with the batteries dying... and I have to be at work at 6am tomorrow morning.

I'm going back to bed now.

I spent most of Christmas throwing up from a stomach virus. I lost count the number of times I ended up puking. Had to go into the emergency room and get two bags of IV put in. Now I've exchanged the puking for the runs.

Merry Christmas. :p

Started with a brofist at the word stomach because I was hurrying to the restroom at work an embarrassing number of times yesterday, but then read the rest and decided not only do you need a hug, but my minor illness is nothing compared to that. That really sucks.

I have a stye. And it frelling hurts!
Clean it with warm water on a q-tip; and with your eye closed, put a hot-water bottle (wrapped in a towel, or just a towel soaked in hot water if you can stand it) for 15 minutes a few times during the day. The pain will lessen and the stye will pop sooner.

(Source: fuckin' styes.)

Thanks @Chad Sexington. I've had them before and have used that technique before (a hot wash cloth since I don't have a hot water bottle). It's much better today. Yesterday I didn't know it was there until I wiped off my face after a swim and suddenly had so much pain in my eyelid it made both eyes water.

I entered a writing contest mentioned elsewhere on the forum and now that I've submitted, I'm buzzing with stress. I put myself through unexpected hell this month with pressure and deadlines and work, and now that should be over, but instead my brain is on fire wanting to know if I did good or right or whatever, and it needs to calm the fuck down so I can get some sleep for work tomorrow.

Ugh, what is wrong with me?

Damn this hasn't been a good year for family. My grandfather and Jun's mom died in May, my grandmother died on Christmas and Jun's grandmother died this morning, and she's on her way back to her home province for the funeral right now. Just, damn.

I felt like watching videos from a little over a year ago of our last big rat with the two new ones when they were babies, thinking I'd enjoy watching them all together.

I found one video. We only took one goddamn video of them together, 20 seconds long, while the babies had their big friend before he died.

I'm very much one of those people who doesn't want to view life through a camera lends, but sometimes I need to just fucking record some things so that future me won't regret it. I feel like such an ass.

Sometimes my brain is my own worst enemy. Finally got a chance to cook a nice meal for dinner tonight after months of not having time or having a kitchen that was just too damn cluttered/dirty. Since they didn't bother installing a new dishwasher yesterday I got up early this morning and cleaned the kitchen to sparkling. Made a nice breakfast, had a nice lunch of salami, cheese, and crackers; and made a standing rib roast for dinner. The roast was damn near perfect - just slightly beyond medium-rare, juicy, tender, a lovely crust on the outside, served with a red wine demi sauce... but my scumbag brain apparently wanted brisket so I was completely unsatisfied by the roast.

FUUUUUUUCK.

So for absolutely no apparent reason, my PS3 suddenly gave me the message that some files are corrupted. Which means it's doing the ONLY option: a System Restore. Which means I lose all of my saved files. Worse, it's taking for-goddamn-ever, to the point of suddenly going to a blank screen while still running, forcing me to do the only option: unplug it and start the whole thing over again.

At this point, I'm honestly tempted to chuck the whole thing and get a BluRay player that can also play video files through USB sticks. I don't honestly game much anymore on it and this fucking headache of a problem is just making me think more about doing just that.

Satisfying as it would be to toss a piece of Sony equipment out a window, it might be more affordable to just let it have its hissy fit. Eventually it should do the restore.

And then I lose all my saved games. For a second time, as I had to do something similar early last year. And if there's one thing I hate more than anything when it comes to video gaming, it's starting all the way back at the beginning after spending (wasting?) all that time building up levels or accomplishing this that or the other thing.

Skeeball. You frustrate me to no end. When I think I'm doing what I need to do to hit the right targets... clunk! 10 points.
