Just when I think I'm out...they suck me back in!!!

Also, I didn't watch the game, but apparently, the Sabres joined the Bruins in a salute of the crowd. I'm very glad the two teams decided to do it, even with all the bad blood we've had over the past few years.

Apparently it was Vanek's idea:

And here's the video:

I have no idea why Orr took that fight. He killed the momentum for the Leafs. They were up 2-0, had just killed a 5 on 3 penalty, McLaren had just had a scrap. And he takes a staged fight off the face-off.
I swear that fight just sucked all the enery out of the Leafs and straight into Tavares.

Why not just friggin fire the puck at the net from the red line. They'll get more shots on net and decent scoring chances that way.

So. We're talking a six-game losing streak to end the season - which promptly knocks the Leafs out of the playoffs?

Yeah, I can see it.

On the plus side, any goals we score completely destroy the oppositions save percentage. 2 goals scored? Enjoy that .667 save % bitch!

This is why I haven't stopped holding my breath here, and why it's annoyin me everyone is talking like we're already guaranteed that playoff spot. Like a 6 game losing streak is completely unheard of for TORONTO.

Meanwhile in the Western Conference...

Vancouver also clinched their playoff spot. Timmus is just too used to that sort of thing to bother mentioning it.

Well since the Red Wings probably won't be making the playoffs for the first time in 22 years, I for one will be rooting for the Maple Leafs. Dougie Gilmore and Mats Sundin are tremendous players. And Felix Potvin is a fantastic young goaltender with an amazing future ahead of him.

...It's the very least I expect of them...I get to go see them on Thursday vs Anaheim. If the division lead is still in play it could be a very good game.

Hurricanes won their last 2 so that's something. :(

This morning the Canes recalled Jared Staal from Charlotte. If Mark was healthy all four brothers would be playing in the next game.

Our new addition got his first NHL point last night. Unfortunately, it was in a winning cause over the Cal-gary Flames, which means our chances of getting him talent equal to his caliber of player are diminishing.

I wouldn't worry about it. Trotz has been turning chicken shit to chicken salad for years.

Yeah, those two teams are just fighting over who has to face the Mooseheads in the final.

Also, the HERD sweeps into the final with their 12th win in a row tonight!

GO MOOSE GO!
