Need word help

Is multicausal a word? As in "Disorder X, like many other psychological conditions, is now seen as multicausal,". It has many causes rather than one.

I already looked this up in a dictionary, but it sounds wrong when I read it to myself.

Well, I inferred its meaning, which is good grounds in terms of clarity of communication. As far as precedent goes, pubmed has this article: Venous thrombosis: a multicausal disease so I'd say, yes, it is a word.

So I'd say yes. But even if it wasn't, it communicates its meaning clearly, so I have no problem with it.

If you like, I can ask some of the Psychology faculty at the university. I can't see American and Canadian terminology differing that much, if at all.
