Minor victory thread

I managed to grab some awesome games at a garage sale this weekend for only $6 :)

Legend of Zelda: OoT (N64 Gold Cartridge)
Paper Mario (N64)
Pokemon Snap (N64)
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (SNES)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time (SNES)

It says the max size is 20k. Since it's 300k right now, I'm not sure it can be shrunk that small. I think it needs to be square too, so he'd probably lose his head. Maybe not, that might have been an old restriction.

Oof. Yeah, that's not happening, even with extremely aggressive image reduction and frame deletion. Although I did learn that max size is apparently a bit bigger at 29.3 kB.

I think the people with animated avatars right now were grandfathered in. I doubt you could get one in with those size restraints.

Found a lump on my testicle this morning. Turned out it really wasn't on my testicles but on my scrotum and all it was was a minor boil that my doctor took care of.

LET ME TELL YOU, this sounds fucking terrible and disgusting, BUT I DON'T HAVE CANCER ON MY FUCKING JUNK. This is good.

I'm posting a lot about my junk lately.

As someone who's been there... that is a most terrifying fear. But thankfully the relief that follows is equally exquisite.

I was joking around with a guy at work about the virus he just got. I told him to stop looking at Porn. His coworker said it was midget porn...

He countered that the Warden afforded him a Work Release program...

Ooofff.... Just got home from the acting crew's traditional dinner. Tomato soup, bacon-wrapped pheasant, house sorbet... followed by crawling to a pub or two, and containing discussions ranging from flow and happiness, Monty Python quotes, one guy setting his bill on fire, the other accidentally cutting himself on a broken glass and using the blood-smeared napkin to scare people (i.e. pretending he had a bad cough and looking at the smears), how to properly defile a person with an umbrella, politics, face-palming when one of our number was served the wrong dish three times in a row (appetizer, main course AND dessert) and again when she only received a 5% compensation for that, what is the proper policy when you don't get billed for wine and so on and so forth.

I had fun.

My brother's band did a kickstarter for their debut album, and they're only $700 away from reaching their goal! It's been rising steadily, and I'm pretty confident they're going to make it. I'm very excited for them. :D

I not only found an online guide to what I need, as a non comic book guy, to read if I want to read Blackest Night, my local libraries have almost every one of the books. Of course they don't have Blackest Night, but it's a start.

Date tomorrow! Fun times ahoy. :D Goin' to Cafe' des Amis for lunch... Haven't been there in years. Then maybe see if there's any Cajun Music playin' in town. I'm very excited.

Is it with General Specific? 'Cause you belong to him as of yesterday's Random Stuff thread.

Oh yeah, just bought my tickets for Cars 2 (2d version because I just don't like the 3d stuff, but that's a rant, not a minor victory...) for $5.00 each. Special matinee price, on a weekend and the opening weekend at that. Happiness!!

In the bookstore yesterday, there was a lady looking for a book for an 8-9 year old boy. The clerk was drawing a blank, and I bit my tongue for as long as I could before blurting out that she should buy the Hobbit. I then had to describe it to her, and definitely sold her on it. I left quite content, because I believe I made a positive impression in that kid's life without having met him. It put me in a good enough mood that I also donated money to a charity for getting kids to read before going home (With a backpack full of books).

I made a sweet-potato pie from scratch for my favourite vet intern who's graduating tomorrow.
It didn't burn, collapse, spindle, explode, or crawl away under its own power.
I'm rather pleased.

Made it through the FY2011 year end cuts, get to keep my job for another year. And, sometime next week hopefully, I may actually get to start doing that job.

In the meantime, we continue to audit our newest help forum moderator agents' responses for grammar and usefulness of response.

After waking up I checked my email and found a friend had sent me Civ 5 over Steam - just as a random gift! I had wanted it for some time, but I'm not in the position to spend big money on games right now. So very cool.

I'm finishing up a screenplay. I don't know what the fuck I'll do with it, but I'm pretty psyched to have written it regardless. It was good to just get something out onto the page before I start another novel (one which I've planned for about a year).
